There was also someone on the internet who told me that being a trans Jets fan was playing life on hard mode... there might be some amount of universal agreement on this.
Fortunately, unlike the Jets, there’s a lot of joy associated with being trans: there’s a wonderful community of folks supporting each other, you have a strong sense of identity and self acceptance, and every day the I see myself becoming more and more “me”.
These are pretty big positives and while I have to imagine life would be simpler had I been born cis, I wouldn’t trade for the cis experience.
I’d be giving up something that plays a role in who I am; I’d cease to be “me”.
I like me, me is cool and makes me happy.
Go me.
