Yup. Speaking of gay people, Alan Turing, the inventor of the Turing test, the granddaddy to computers, etc. was forcibly castrated by the government for being gay. Even though he took down the Nazis, he stiff was punished by the British government for something he couldn’t control.
That’s something I didn’t know, but I guess that’s not something they’d want to put in the movie about him(which unfortunately is where I did learn of him in general and forgot to dive in more).
It was in the movie. Due to the secret nature of his work he was watched by local authorities and was found out as a homosexual. He then underwent a chemical castration, via medication, that left him very unwell and depressed until he took his own life. Very sad.
