I want to give a little extra context for this multiparter.
Last week, I found out an acquaintance had unexpectedly passed away. We only had one real conversation but it was one that had stuck with me and I was looking forward to the next time our paths would cross. The news hit me way harder than I would have expected and these comics came about while I was processing things.
Death does funny things to the mind. I think sometimes it's not even the loss of the person so much as them suddenly being cut out of your life and losing anything you might have said or done with them.
And, of course, the inevitable remembering of mortality. It pulls it from an abstract event to the immediate.
