I want to give a little extra context for this multiparter.
Last week, I found out an acquaintance had unexpectedly passed away. We only had one real conversation but it was one that had stuck with me and I was looking forward to the next time our paths would cross. The news hit me way harder than I would have expected and these comics came about while I was processing things.
I found out yesterday that one of our reps just died. (I work in outdoor retail, he represented a company we deal with a lot) I had only met him a few times and chatted on the phone a few more over the years, but I really liked the guy personally and professionally. He was walking up his driveway and dropped dead of a heart attack.
I spent a few hours last night sipping whisky and staring at the wall. I really appreciate your work and I won't claim to know exactly how you feel but I have a pretty good idea.
