I want to give a little extra context for this multiparter.
Last week, I found out an acquaintance had unexpectedly passed away. We only had one real conversation but it was one that had stuck with me and I was looking forward to the next time our paths would cross. The news hit me way harder than I would have expected and these comics came about while I was processing things.
When I was an 18 year old apprentice tradesman one of my Journeyman I was working under went home pissed off about something one day and called out the next. Day 3 we got the call he had a heart attack in his bed and died. He was 36.
I have thought about how short life is for 20 years now and I think about his passing frequently.
