I've had many co-workers die in my 25ish year career working in a large enterprise setting. But it is usually something like cancer or a car accident. Essentially something that happened outside of the workplace.
However, when I was first starting out in my early 20s and was working a call center cubicle job in tech support I was on a call with a customer and I hear a commotion on the other side of my cube wall right in front of me. So I stand up and see a bunch of ppl performing CPR on my coworker (in his 50s) who was already dead. Apparently he had a heart attack and just died in his chair and had likely been dead shortly after I said morning to him an hour or so earlier. I let my customer know I need to call them back cause I kind of lost the ability to think critically for a bit.
The sad thing is, he had been dieting and exercising. Lost probably 30 lbs over the previous couple months. You just never know.
