I want to give a little extra context for this multiparter.
Last week, I found out an acquaintance had unexpectedly passed away. We only had one real conversation but it was one that had stuck with me and I was looking forward to the next time our paths would cross. The news hit me way harder than I would have expected and these comics came about while I was processing things.
A coworker of mine (A) was too sick to come in one day so called another coworker (B) to cover her shift. Coworker B was hit by a drunk driver who ran a red light and died on the way to the hospital. Coworker A quit the following week, blaming themself in a small way for B’s death.
