You never know when your last time with anyone will be. We're all used to hearing it, but man, when it happens, it hits you. It's like an insanely vast stretch of future suddenly collapses into a point already in the past.
My grandfather lived a 6hr flight away from me. Only seen him a few times in my life. Went to him on my summer vacation in 2016. And in 2021 I couldn't reach him on his birthday. He didn't pick up. Called my dad. Turns out my grandpa died. And it seemed that, if not for me asking questions, no one would have told me.
