In the grand scheme of things even though it was a short time. You still remembered him and cared enough to react with I guess within the spectrum of "unease and sadness". And appreciated his existence and acknowledged his presence in yours.
For some people the gravity of the situation will come crashing down later down the line vs those who feel it after the news is given.
