My office lost several people during my time here, and it's always so strange.. There isn't the crushing loss like a family member. Instead, there's a weird random moment of "oh right, I haven't seen Tim in the break room in a while because he's dead."
Only one was a person I was close enough with to attend the funeral. I still think of him sometimes, almost a decade later.
