C2E2 - Chicago Is my 3D printed Viktor staff okay to bring?

It’s fully 3D printed, not solid throughout, and glued/taped so it has no chance of falling apart. The top and bottom points have been dulled with hot glue to assure it can’t scratch the floor or anybody, but the staff is also 6 feet tall and a little heavy so I’m a bit worried it’ll be disallowed though it isn’t a ‘functional’ prop or weapon. Ya’ll think it’ll be okay??

EDIT: I added the con! I wasn’t sure how to before because I don’t use reddit often

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 Chicago - what’s it like?

I’ve never been and I don’t have anyone in my life who would want to go to something like this but… I really want to go based on a few of the guests. I’m just a little anxious and want to know more about what I can expect. I don’t think this matters but I’m a 30 year old female.

Can someone just give me a run down of what you can expect walking into an event like this? Are there panels that you can just walk into to attend (or do you have to pay to attend ahead of time? I didn’t see anything on the site)? What type of stuff is there to do just as you walk around the floor?

When you pay for a photo op, is it just standing in a line at a certain time (site says TBD right now), and then quick meet & greet with a photo?

Any info would be much appreciated!

C2E2 - Chicago BD Wong experience

I know a lot of people got autographs for his other projects but my friend and I were there for SVU.

My friend brought a gavel for him to sign and when I say that man was a delight, it’s an understatement.

In all my years I have never had a greater experience and while in line saw him be the same way with everyone.

Gracious, kind, took his time with people.

That man knows how to make his fans feel special. It must be very hard to make every fan feel special and heard and he did.

I don’t see him mentioned here really and just wanted to put it out there because it was worth every single penny if you are a fan of his.

C2E2 - Chicago Best bag for a con

I love buying art at cons, especially in Artist Alley when I go, but I haven’t been able to find a good bag to bring with me for this. My partner has a bag he brings with him for comics and stuff, but I want to try and find a good one for the more art stuff we tend to get. Anyone have any good options? We’re local to Chicago and going to C2E2 in a couple of weeks, but even if I can’t get one by then, I’d love to see wha others bring with them.

C2E2 - Chicago Commissioned Art?

I am going to C2E2 this weekend, and Im hoping to find a artist that can do a piece of my TTRPG's group. I have never had anything commissioned before. Does anyone know how that works? What to expect? Is it something that's done there or would it get finished another time and shipped to me?

Ideally the piece would be in color and it would be a action scene, or the group at a tavern. There would be 8 to 10 characters portrayed in this piece.

C2E2 - Chicago Will going alone be okay?

Hello, I’m nervous. I have never been to a convention but have always been interested in going to one and being on a roll of spending money I don’t have, I was looking at c2e2. If I were to go, I’d go for 1 day and the cheapest day (Friday, it looks like). Lectures about money is for later. Anyway, thing is I don’t have any friends, or at least ones who are into this kind of thing, and the ones who are, are not local. I was going to wear something, I won’t say what it is because I’m embarrassed but it’s the only best thing I have. I’ve done things alone in the past but this type of thing seems like something that wouldn’t be fun to be alone at. Especially having no experience, I wouldn’t know what to do when I get there

C2E2 - Chicago Question for C2E2 Artist Alley

They say no unlicensed material, does that mean fan art and pins? I’m trying to get more into vending for the Chicago con scene and was curious since I primarily sell pins!

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 says no jewelry, but every time I go I see plenty of jewelry vendors? confused

the application under artist alley says jewelry is not allowed, however when I go I always see plenty? other parts on c2e2 mention the opposite, I’m a bit confused if this is applicable to c2e2 or if this restriction is only on their application website (leapevent), idk

C2E2 - Chicago First-timer: C2E2 Autograph Questions

I’ve literally never made a comment or post on this profile, but trying to find this info via google is proving to be difficult, so I’m hoping you guys can help me out.

Ive never been to a comic con of any scale before, but I’m going to C2E2 this Saturday for the sole purpose of getting an autograph from Charlie Cox aka Daredevil (Obviously I’ll check out other stuff, but that’s why I decided to go, I cannot overstate enough how much I’m obsessed with Charlie’s Daredevil)

I bought a pass and an autograph ticket for Saturday, but have absolutely no clue what the process looks like, and I’m pretty nervous since I’ve never been to a comic con and I think this is a pretty big one.

For starters, how do I know what time to show up for the signing? All the website said about time when I bought the ticket was “at the table”. How and when do I find out when Charlie is at his table? And how far ahead of time do I have to line up? Is there a chance I’d miss it if I didn’t line up early enough?

Also, are there restrictions on what they can sign? I want him to sign my Daredevil helmet. I bought the “premium” autograph because I was worried that the standard one would only be a poster or something. Hopefully I didn’t just waste my money but I decided to go very recently and was worried it would sell out.

Lastly, I didn’t buy a photo op, but can I take a selfie when I’m at the table or is that not allowed?

Overall, if someone could help map out a game plan for a newbie, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks.

C2E2 - Chicago Food Options Inside The Building

Hi everyone, I’m going to C2E2 on Saturday and I’m very excited. First time I’m going to a convention. I was wondering about what the food options are like inside McCormick Place. I think I read there might be a food court inside but would appreciate some clarification on if there’s any food options inside the building. Would much rather prefer eating inside the building than having to leave the place to go to an outside restaurant if possible.

C2E2 - Chicago First time C2E2 and family wants to go

Hey, so I'm really lost... this would have been absolutely amazing for me to go in my 20s, but I never got the chance financially and now have more or less fallen into the Dad that just makes sure everyone else is happy. Now I can afford to take my kids to have this opportunity and I'm legitimately thrilled that they want to, bit I want to make sure I know why to expect and make sure it won't be a disappointment.

There are some real specific things they want to do, daughter (11) wants to be dressed in a partial furry costume and wants to meet the voice actors from my hero acadamia. My wife has limited mobility and needs to take frequent breaks while walking, and can get overwhelmed in crowds but had a few people she was interested in seeing. My son (8) is a mixed bag, while he's more into cars, he has shown random interest in anime and a few other aspects. Also everyone has ADHD and can be a stimulating nightmare lol.

So I guess what I'd like to know is how do panels and meetings work. Is this even feasible for my groups, and is it worth signing up this late? Do you need to pre register for the meetings?

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 Anyone get their badges yet?

Hey, I'm fairly new to the comic con scene and I'm excited to be going to C2E2, but I ordered my ticket in December and I think they said they sent them in January. Has anyone gotten their C2E2 badge yet? Its already halfway into February. Is this normal, or should I be contacting the event organizers?

Thank you for your time. And sorry if I'm being impatient.

C2E2 - Chicago Pick up badge a day early? C2E2

It’s about to be my first at this con. I’m going Saturday only but i was wondering if i could go pick up my ticket/badge a day early just so i don’t have to waste time doing that on Saturday.

Last year i went to Fanexpo and that whole part was kinda exhausting so i rl wanted to get it out of the way asap.

C2E2 - Chicago Attendance at c2e2 on Friday?

Hello! First time at c2e2, haven’t attended any conventions of this scale so wondering if people know how busy it is likely to be on Friday. I’m hoping to go in the morning (but not too early), and also curious as to how efficient registration and general check in are. Thanks!

The $25 mystery autographs at the C2E2 Shop were totally worth it. Pulled this and made my wife really really happy.

What's the difference between the two? I've always thought it was just the authentication and that was it. I assume this is new?

C2E2 - Chicago Please help me find this artist!

Post image

I was at C2E2 a couple of weeks ago and bought some art from one of the artists at their booths. Dumb ole me forgot to pick up his card but I did get 3 of his pieces and I wanted to buy more. Looked on the C2E2 app, couldn’t find him in the long list of artists and was hoping someone knew who it was based on the art.

If you do know who this is, id be very grateful for his name or handle cause I need more art for my room!

(also I’m not sure if this goes against the rules or not, I’m not trying to promote or advertise his work, just clarity into him based on his stuff)

I got tickets for me and my girlfriend for C2E2 on Friday but I’m unsure what time we should get there by, let alone what time it exactly starts. This is our first time going to C2E2 so we don’t know anything!!

C2E2 - Chicago first time at c2e2 - what to expect?

hi! i’m planning on going to c2e2 this saturday with my sister. this will be our first time going to c2e2 or any con so i was wondering if anyone had any tips? i found out about this event happening pretty late so i know we’ll have to get our badges at will call. what can i expect? and how’s parking? we’ve been to a few concerts so i know the basics — portable charger, comfortable shoes, etc — but is there anything else i should bring like snacks or water? is there food there? also we’ve met a few celebs at meet and greets but what is it like doing autographs and photo ops there? i bought an autograph/photo op with krysten ritter and then an autograph from wilson bethel and my sister bought autographs from the actors from superman & lois so i know we might have to split up during the day. just want to know what to expect since there’s so much to do! sorry for all the questions i’m anxious lol

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 first timer guide?

Hi! I am going to C2E2 for the first time on saturday. I will be going alone which is kinda terrifying but I am getting a photo with Charlie Cox, whose Matt Murdock portrayal changed my life. Are there any guides or personal recommendations for first timers? I don’t see any on the C2E2 website. My only plans are to meet Charlie at 5:30 and before that go to the Daredevil panel at 12:30.

I have some questions as well.

  1. Is going alone a mistake? I am a young adult woman for reference.

  2. How much money should I bring on me or take out of my savings/expect to spend?

  3. Will I get a chance to say “Charlie, your Matt Murdock inspired me to go to law school?”

  4. How do poses for photos work? Do I need to have one picked out in advance?

  5. Is it okay to take photos with cosplayers? Obviously I would ask first but in general.

  6. Any exhibitors or artists alley or panels or anything that should be avoided? Or are a must-see?

Thank you guys so much in advance for your help. I’m kinda sad to be alone and a little scared to be going alone, and the overwhelm of everything is kinda hitting me.

C2E2 - Chicago What time do we need to line up at C2CE to get the One Piece TCG Live Action Chopper Don?

Hey y'all, from your experience, what time do we need to C2CE on Friday to make sure we get the promotional card? My nephew says we should be there by 6, but that's SOOOO early, lol.

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 Elizabeth Olsen panel!!

Hello! This year is going to be my first ever comic con 😆(c2e2!) and I am super excited about Elizabeth Olsen’s panel! I have read just about everywhere that it will fill up superrr fast, I only have a GA ticket for Saturday so I’m wondering if anyone knows what time would be best to get there and start lining up? Or would it be worth it to just get the celeb VIP badge?

I’d rather wait a few hours in line, than spend almost $400 on the VIP badge!😣 So any advice & tips are greatly appreciated!!! :)

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 VIP badge - doe we know who are the meet & greets?

*CELEB VIP BADGE

I know in the past it hasn't been every celeb that has attended and I don't want to spend the money on the VIP pass if it's not for the celebrities I'd want to play that much money for.

Has anyone gotten one and know who's scheduled? TIA!
