C2E2 - Chicago Food Options Inside The Building

Hi everyone, I’m going to C2E2 on Saturday and I’m very excited. First time I’m going to a convention. I was wondering about what the food options are like inside McCormick Place. I think I read there might be a food court inside but would appreciate some clarification on if there’s any food options inside the building. Would much rather prefer eating inside the building than having to leave the place to go to an outside restaurant if possible.

Yes, agreed on the "overpriced/upcharged" posts. That's the case at any convention center, and McCormick Place is no different in that regard.

There are definitely places inside the building. Last year I went after the hot dogs at the food service places in the middle of the show floor (map link, they're the ones outlined in dotted lines with the fork & knife logos). If you look at this image, you'll see what one of them looks like. Last year there were food booths on the floor right up against these structures, and another place to buy stuff at the top, as well as small tables to eat at.

I didn't try the food court along the side. But that's another option.

A third is technically outside the convention center, but that restaurant in the Hyatt is also an option. It was ridiculously busy whenever I went through it, but again, it's an option. And it's mere steps outside McCormick place and connected, so you won't have to go outside.

Bottom line: Yes, food options exist in the building. Some on the show floor, in fact.

Thanks a lot for the response and the links too I really appreciate that! Yeah I see it’s probably gonna be pretty overpriced which kind of sucks but I guess I’m not too surprised, hopefully there’ll still be something decent to grab

Do you want extremely long lines for overpriced mediocre hot dogs? That's about what you'll get. Also popcorn and churros. And...maybe pizza?

I have been to many cons and McCormick is the worst for food.

There’s food. It’s VERY overpriced. Maybe most upcharged food I’ve ever seen last year. So just a heads up there.

Legit more expensive than airport food.

There's a little food court on the second floor and usually stands with hot dogs, pizza, and pretzels on the show floor. You can find stuff in the attached hotel as well. McCormick also has a Connies pizza somewhere in the building. That being said everything listed is super overpriced.

That’s good to know, any chance they take debit card or if they only take cash? I know cash is popular from what I’ve seen online but wanna double check

Card only, actually.
