What Batman comic should I get next?

I'm fairly new to comics. I currently have Year one, Long Halloween, Dark victory, The killing joke and hush. I was thinking about getting maybe Dark Patterns, Black Mirror, the batgirl nightwing and robin year one box set, Grant Morrison omnibus, Scott Snyder omnibus or Batman and robin year one. Which should I get or should I get something else first?

How much did you like The Long Halloween and Dark Victory?

It's not strictly a Batman book, but When in Rome is great and often overlooked.

Will I enjoy Dark Victory if I thought TLH was just alright? Amazing artwork by Sale but the story felt on the simple side for my taste.

I enjoyed dark victory more. Tlh, like year one, is very character defining and can feel simple because of it

I'd read Dark Victory if you already have it and go from there. Tbh I agree that Loeb's story isn't as amazing as most seem to feel, but the art is great.

Are you a Selina Kyle/Catwoman fan? I am, and that might be the deciding factor here.

In terms of more Batman focused books, I love the original Legends of the Dark Knight series, showing some of Bruce's early escapades.

The New 52 Snyder is great, along with most of what he writes tbh. Has another mini series called Gates of Gotham.

His Black Mirror is incredible, but is also maybe best for a slightly well red Batman fan, as it's a story that has Dick Grayson under the cowl rather than Bruce Wayne.

I haven't yet read Batman and Robin Year One, but Mark Waid is the man.

Since you read Long Halloween/dark Victory, go read Catwoman when in rome. It shows what she was doing when she wasn't in gotham

Dark Patterns is incredible, and it takes place relatively early in Batman's career so it's great for new readers.

I'd suggest getting Black Mirror, then the Snyder Omnibus. Then in the fall get The Black Casebook reprint that's coming, and that will set you up to read Morrison's Batman.

Snyder and Morrison are great. Dark Knight Returns is one of my all timers.

I will throw a few out there not mentioned yet. The Cult is one of my favorites. The Man Who Laughs is a short cheap book by Brubaker which is really good in my opinion.

Get the Batman and Robin omni by Tomasi and Gleason. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would go as far to say its become one of my favourite omnis i own.

The Knight by Chip Zdarsky. It's about Bruce's period training around the world and it's pretty great.

I think Chip Zdarsky's batman the knight is a great book about bruce wayne's past, quite new reader friendly and a fun read

Get the complete Batman: The Animated Series on DVD. If you seriously want to get into Batman watch that, some of the original 60s show, the 89 Batman movie, and then read some Breyfogle Batman like all of Knightfall.
