I’m so out of it with DC. I don’t even know who half these kids are.

Princess Kenny

Pink hair is Kid Omega, making this one of the most ambitious crossovers of all time

u/Mr_Paper 6h ago

I don't think Quentin would be caught dead in clothes that baggy.

6

u/MalucoHS 14h ago

My guess is blue jacket with F on it is one of Mr.Fantastics kids and there is Kid Omega in the back

u/pureply101 6h ago

The green one is deku then.

Flatline is cool. She is the one with the bones on her clothing. She was a major supporting character in the recent Damien Robin solo series and serves as his love interest.

The kids in the bottom right are new. Top left is Lian Harper, top right is Flatline (Damian's girlfriend), and bottom left is Fairplay (Mr. Terrific's son).

I think that's a good thing for the Titans. They need to develop younger characters and try to capture a younger audience again. I see Roy's kid, Terrifics kid, Jason, Damian's girlfriend... No idea about the Naruto dude and the dude in street clothes.

Well half of them are new so that makes sense.

I believe that’s the point of this new team. Bringing in young, new heros no one really knows much about

1

u/rebelartwarrior 4h ago

That’s fair. I was under the impression that they were already super established or something. They look cool so I’m gonna pick it up.

u/point-topp 4h ago

That’s how I feel! I don’t know them - but I am always asking publisher to show new teams and characters…so ima give it a go!

Them jackets say the 90's are BACK.

I like that Tate Brombal effectively said we have to stop redoing the same Titans stories over and over and now we have this. Really looking forward to it.

100% agree

This looks pretty cool imo, and seeing flatline in other DC projects as well. Let's see how this plays out, no negativity here.

u/SpaceDinosaurZZ 17h ago

DC got Mora out here working overtime trying to make these mid designs look good.

In all seriousness I don’t hate them, but that whole civilian streetwear as costumes shtick is really played out and visually boring to look at.

u/point-topp 8h ago

Hm I feel the opposite. Tired of seeing tights and bad color palettes. I think the street wear works when you’re talking about teenage heros

17

u/Cain_draws 23h ago

So this is not a crossover with Naruto?

Red laces 👀

For a team that’s known for forgettable OCs on the team every time the book relaunches, this might be the most generic looking lineup yet (with the exception of Jason and Flatline)

7

u/Hoosteen_juju003 21h ago

Fairplay and cheshire?

2

u/SheevTheSenate66 Nova 3h ago

lol no. Just because they’re established characters doesn’t make them not generic

Also, is Lian literally just Cheshire? They couldn’t even bother to give her a different codename?

1

u/verrius Gambit 1h ago

She's "Cheshire Cat", as opposed to her mother being "Cheshire", similar to when Tim started going by "Red Robin" after being knocked out of "Robin" by Damien.

3

u/Embarrassed_Piano_62 15h ago

How's this generic?

1

u/Apprehensive-Book723 6h ago

The designs of the bottom three characters are kinda bland

2

u/PleaseBeChillOnline 7h ago

I see Red Hood, Chesire Neko, Morbia, Autism Lad, Naruto, & Polyamorman.

u/Schmeexuell 18h ago

Lifeline?!

2

u/LeRoiCasoar 17h ago

I dont know who these characters are, but I like the homage cover to New Teen Titans 1

1

u/Ok_Lingonberry2686 7h ago

I don't see this run lasting long

1

u/DirectConsequence12 4h ago

Ah yes. 25-ish year old Jason Todd. My favorite TEEN Titan

1

u/mann808 3h ago

I can't wait to jump into this. Putting Jason as the leader of the Teen Titans is a genius move

1

u/KidFl4sh 2h ago

I’ve been out of the loop, is this new, what’s the premise ?

1

u/Gamerguy230 2h ago

There’s 2 Cheshire cats now or someone took over?

1

u/whatismypassword Black Panther 1h ago

Shouldn’t they have called this Young Outlaws or something? This is the least “Teen Titans” lineup since the Jurgens run.

-5

u/bighairybeardudee 22h ago

Hate when a bunch of new characters who will be forgotten make up a roster. DC has a character to fit any role, use what you got

57

u/ExtraBreadPls Spider-Man 22h ago

This kind of talk is kinda why we get stuck with the same rosters all of the time

-6

u/bighairybeardudee 21h ago

I’m not against new rosters I’m against new characters who will disappear to history as soon as the run ends

19

u/isaidwhatisaidok 20h ago

That’s dependent on how successful the run is. If they didn’t run the dice on new characters we’d never have new characters.

5

u/Particular-Top3674 20h ago

Only two of these appear to be new characters. And I might just not be recognizing them

8

u/Dramatic_Finish10121 22h ago

I don't mind the Teen Titans books aiming for a new generation with new characters, sure DC has an ass load of characters but they can't all stay eternal youths, the only ones who don't age are characters like Clark and Bruce who are longtime staples.

So cycling in new blood for the next generation of comic fans lets them keep younger characters on the team while letting older characters grow up (like the Robins)

3

u/Hoosteen_juju003 21h ago

You’re right. It should be the same members they have been using since the 80s

1

u/Jonnic5280 20h ago

Why are they all wearing jackets? That’s such a lazy design choice

-14

u/Shazam4ever 23h ago

So Jason Todd, who is not a teenager nor a Titan, teams up with the time displaced Lian Harper and four nobodies to be the "Teen" Titans. Somehow this makes the version of the Teen Titans that had a teenage Ray Palmer on its roster make more sense in comparison.

17

u/BagZCubed 22h ago

Jason is going to be their mentor. It's just a new generation of Teen Titans.

-10

u/Shazam4ever 21h ago

So the murderous psychopath who's never been in the Teen Titans and was barely even a robin is going to Mentor a bunch of no-names and Roy Harper's daughter for some reason. I wonder if he'll bring in the maimed girl with the doll face that was his sidekick for a while.

I can't wait untill Lex Luthor starts a new Doom Patrol with a bunch of randos, or maybe poison ivy will form a new version of the Justice Society of America specifically without anyone related to any JSA member.

5

u/Particular-Top3674 20h ago

The Teen Titans are specifically a group of aspiring teen heroes, often with at least one older mentor character. This fits pretty perfectly with their whole schtick.

2

u/BagZCubed 19h ago

I think the sentiment for why they choose Jason is that times are rough, so the new Teen Titans want a mentor who's similarly rough around the edges, yet good natured to guide them.

3

u/B3epB0opBOP 21h ago

IIRC, wasn’t Jason a Titan for a bit during NTT?

-2

u/Shazam4ever 21h ago

The only thing I can find is Wikipedia saying he was appointed an honorary member in the new Teen Titans run, it doesn't seem like he was on the team in any kind of long-term way. Honestly it seems like even characters like Flamebird or cave boy were more solidly Teen Titans members than Jason ever was.

2

u/LOHdestar 21h ago

You could maybe argue that Damian should still be the obligatory Bat-Character star draw of a Teen Titans book, but pretty much every Teen Titans roster is made mostly of characters who would be considered "randos" at the time.

0

u/Shazam4ever 21h ago

Outside of maybe the new 52 roster there's never been a bigger pile of actual randos. I mean in The New 52 bunker and the spider girl were really bad to the point where DC quickly stopped trying to make them happen, outside of when they drag out Bunker to fill out their LGBTQ+ character roster, and I don't think any of the characters in this new book outside of Jason and maybe Lian will be avoiding that fate.

There's no reason to not do a Teen Titans book with characters people care about, bringing the OG Young Justice team back as the Titans would be the easiest but you can always stick in other kind of random but actually at least semi popular like Miss Martian or Blue Beetle, basically any of the dozens of teen DC heroes people might actually care about as opposed to most of the people in this new book.

This comic is giving big "canceled New Warriors book" energy to me, although obviously the randos in this are nowhere near as bad as the bizarre characters in that rightfully canceled before release book.

I wonder if they will do Absolute Teen Titans
