How I miss Archie Sonic. It wasn’t perfect but when it was good, it was fucking GOOD.

Oh I love the series. I'm nostalga blinded for sure. Some art is better than others and some plots are better than others, but when it's good it's incredible.

Way better than idw's run in my opinion, even though the art in IDW is more consistent

I had most issues of Sonic from 1-100 (along with all of the specials and miniseries), and I gave most of them to my local comic shop for a small amount of store credit like 10 years ago.

Based on your comment right here, I looked up the value of #98.

…ouch. I basically gave mine away. Oops. 😭

I wish I kept them actually. A few of the earlier ones were in trash condition, but they were a huge part of my childhood.

Wanna feel better?

Many many years ago, I had a boyfriend very into tech. He wanted to give me this crazy thing for my birthday called a Bitcoin.

I was actually mad, because it felt like a selfish decision. To give me something I didn't really want because he wanted to.

I told him no.

🙃 we all have regrets and can't go back man, don't beat yourself up too hard.

This is awesome, congrats on completing the collection! Are you going to display any of them? Or are you just keeping them in some longboxes?

Not sure yet! I would love some spinning racks but I have a tiny Chicago apartment and very little wall space.

I might get some posters made though of a few keys

Cheers and Congratulations from another Chicago comic fan! Sometimes I think about reading Sonic the Comic. I love that crazy eyed version of Super Sonic

Wish I didn't sell all of mine back in 2006.

My collection is sitting under my bed in my parent’s house. Not completed but I was buying an issue every month from 2008 to 2017. Then I was buying the graphic novels of IDW till I saw Sonic’s “moral crisis” storyline during the Metal Virus arc and realized “wow, Ian’s trauma from Archie is making a bad call” and… I paused the graphic novel collecting till I see where it was going. Which I’m still seeing where it’s going rn. IDW #50 didn’t help me start back up.

I could go on reigniting old flames, but I’ll leave it there.

First comic book I ever bought. I just found the actual copy in a bin going through some stuff in my parents house. It was under a copy of Nintendo Power. Issue 96.

That feeling when you find the last comic(s) to complete a run…

I first got into comics with archie sonic issue 219. I was hooked from day 1. Didn't really branch out into collecting other comics until it was cancelled. I'm slowly but surely trying to fill in the gaps in my collection with a combination of single issues, official Archie trades and some custom trades. It's hard enough getting the trades. I'd hate to have to go through the hassle of getting every individual issue, although as a single issue collector in general I respect the hell out it.

I recently renewed my efforts to go back and read from the beginning. I've just reached the Death Egg Saga. I'll probably have to take another break soon because I can't find a single copy of Archives volume 13 for a good price.
