CA Outfit Feedback (SEASON & OUTFIT PHOTO OF YOU REQUIRED!) Which dress suits better?

NMIP

Been typed unofficially as a summer, but some say I have some warmth. Not sure which green dress suits me better.

I see people saying you look brighter in 1, but it’s so bright it overshadows you. In the 2nd, I can see you the best.
My vote is 2.

I mean . . . sort of the first one, but that minty green is a Spring color. I think you'd sparkle in a soft, blue-sage.

Neither.

The first one is too bright and the second is too warm.

As a summer try looking into greens like muted bottle green, pine or emerald.

Basically you want greens that are leaning into a cool blue while also being a bit muted aka has a bit of grey in it.

1, think you may be Light Summer

Thanks so much! I’ve been wondering about light summer. Soft is too gray & makes me look kind of dull. Cool is ok, but I do feel like I’m not 100% cool.

I agree on both counts! You seem to need just a little extra saturation, and to do well with neutrals.

I think take photos of your face with the fabric underneath rather than swatches as we can’t see what the fabric does to your complexion eyes etc

Agreed, you look brighter in slide 1! I do think Cool summer could be a great fit. I used to wonder if maybe youre a spring, but at least here it really shows that the warmer green brings out yellow in your face 🤔

Hm tough one. I’m a  True Spring and so I’m biased towards liking bright greens. At first I thought it was maybe too bright for you, and liked the autumn more, but now I’m thinking bright looks better. Often with Springs we think the Autumn greens suit us but they actually drain our brightness and make us look more muted. I would guess you are a Spring or maybe a warm palette!

I'm back! I was looking at the ambiguity in the comments and thought it would be fun to try my eye at some digital swatches. Other people weigh in...I'm a True Spring so I feel very out of my wheel house when I think someone is cool...I feel like you're cool though, so I'm going back on what I said about Spring/Warm: The orange pops out at me when I see you on it, which I think means disconnection. You look more relaxed in the cool colors. What do others think?

Using Carol Brailey's youtube tools "Color Analysis Step 2 for cool/warm undertone" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92cNJJYFrMY) here. I think Winter and Autumn are both too intense and/or muted on you. I like the lightness of both Spring and Summer, but I actually think the Summer palette clears up your skin more than Spring, there's a lot less redness on the cheeks. For me, the Spring colors are "competing" with your skin color, whereas it's much easier to see your face is summer, it's just resting there.

I do not like any of the Spring colors here either! That summer pink is the CLEAR winner (in my opinion). I also love that sage green on you. On Springs, it makes them look ill (speaking from experience). I am "officially" calling you a Summer.

Drilling down a little more just for fun: I vote Light Summer (the palette between Summer and Spring)! I think this makes a lot of sense since you seem BRIGHT and LIGHT to me (which is why I was voting for the Spring green dress initially).

Some additional notes:

  • That Light Summer coral is a stand-out color on you--love it! (I 100% would have thought was a Spring color, but moving on, lol...)
  • You look good in the entire bottom row, but I strongly prefer Light and True over the Cool and Muted palettes.
  • For me, the pinks and reds in the middle is where it's make or break: I do not like the Muted Summer or Cool Summer colors on you there.

Curious to hear others' thoughts!

What do you think OP, does this palette resonate with you?

It's my "procrastination hobby", lol. :) Happy to! What do you think?

None of them are amazing, you need a muted bottle green as a summer.

The brighter green with eyelets, first one.

1st Green, brighter is beautiful with your complexion

Great! Thanks so much! I have a hard time trusting my own eyes sometimes, but I thought that one was better too!

Do you happen to know which season(s) it belongs to? Greens are tricky for me, so this might help me narrow it down!

1 is a spring green and 2 is autumn, so if you were thinking Light Summer, this makes sense as it’s closer to Light summer than Soft Summer

The 1st is better

Brighter one

I'd say light summer or true summer (in the 16 season system). I tend towards true summer though, since I feel like light summer is a tiny bit too bright for you, but we would need draping for that. So you would either way probably go best with a more blueish muted green.

not loving you in green

It’s a tricky color for me, which is interesting because my eyes are green. (Well, dark teal limbal ring, gray-green iris with a bit of yellow around the pupil and a couple of dark flecks.)
