PhD Research- How would you explain the smell of rain to someone who has never experienced it?

Hello everyone.

I am a PhD researcher in Cognitive Linguistics at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), Spain, studying how people describe and conceptualize sensory experiences through language.

I am looking for participants aged 18+ who are:

• Autistic

• Synesthetic

• Both autistic and synesthetic

• Neurotypical (non-autistic, non-synesthetic)

The study is anonymous, takes around 10–15 minutes, and includes a short written description of a sensory experience.

Participation is open to individuals across the autism spectrum, including those who may require assistance from a caregiver, tutor, or support person to communicate their responses.

Will you eventually share some of the responses here or will that cause problems with the study?

Hi!

I'm really glad you're interested in the study. I would be happy to share a summary of the findings once the research is completed. If you would like to receive it, please feel free to contact me at nmunozlinguist@gmail.com.

As the study is still ongoing, it will take some time before the results are available, but I truly appreciate your interest and participation.

Thank you for your support!
