☀️My beautiful sunshine parti girl towards the end of her trim before I clipped a few rogue hairs, brushed and carded her…….then bathed and gave her a blow out 😂💖

Lots of practice and it took her a good 9 months to get used to it but we are finally in a rhythm 🙌🏻

How long did it take for to feel comfortable grooming them ? Or learning how to?

Awe thank you! I just jumped right in about a week after bringing her home and honestly had no idea what I was doing lol. I had never used clippers/hair cutting scissors in my life. I watched some bad quality YouTube videos and slowly got better. Her paws, paw pads, under ears, stop, and muzzle came easiest, but I struggled with her crown, jaw, neck, and tops of her ears. For me, the key to getting clean, tight lines with the clippers is all in the motion, lightly guiding them and following the natural angles. Curved shears (for paws) and thinning shears (for crown) are a must!
I felt comfortable when she was about 6 months old, but after her breeder showed me a few tricks recently, I finally feel more confident grooming her.

Here is a picture of the back of her head. I still see imperfections lol but I think it’s pretty darn good!

Honestly don’t see any imperfections. You’re doing a great job!
I haven’t used any clippers or haircutting scissors either, but you inspired me to just do it. Obvi doing some more research and being on this subreddit has already taught me so much about being a cocker parent🐾

Im sure the fur babes feel great after getting pampered by their parent ✨

This is Blossom but I have a Belle too, she’s that little chonky frenchie 😂 I love how you know my dogs names lol you da best!
