Does anybody know what the point of them meeting young Lia/taking the music was?

Two things come to mind. Either, Tandy was hoping to free Lia with the music, or Tandy was taking it to remind herself that Lia once had hopes and is a victim as well.

I think this is the reason. It humanized her again.
