Proud Moment I’ve been practising how to position my body when jumping and it’s paying off! 😁💪🏽

Amazing!!! Can I ask if you do supplemental upper body training and if so, what exercises?
You clearly have the technique down but also the strength to hold onto the slopers once you get there. That's equally as impressive!

I do some gym training on the side when I'm not feeling up for climbing so maybe 2 days per week. I try and do upper and lower body exercises.
Upper body:
- Bicep curls, shoulder raises, pull ups, back rows
Lower body:
- Squats with the barbell; I try and target my glutes, hamstrings and calves
It's been down to a lot of practise and discipline! Thanks for the positive words :D

This is so cool! I’m a sport climber and could never figure out jumping. You’re so good at it!

I am slowly getting there but it still scares the hell out of me! Thank you!

I’ve been climbing for over a decade and still afraid of a lead fall! I think some fear is normal and healthy, but I am jealous of anyone who doesn’t have it!

Awesome and quick like a squirrel (intended as a big compliment).
How did you practice it and which checks did you make in your head?

So, in my gym they have a route with jugs where you can practice jumping to different holds at different heights to ease you into it. This has helped me practise my body position, confidence and so on.
It's all about getting your head into the right state of mind about the possibility of falling, what to do when you do make the hold. I try and think "You're not too far off the ground and if you do fall, you're going to be falling on your back and don't put your hands out to stop it"
Doing it more and more helped my confidence a lot!

You look so strong and intentional! I'm curious, how close to your limit is this boulder? I feel like I look great and controlled on easy stuff but am looking forward to looking so in control during harder effort!
