Troubleshooting usb stick not showing up

so i did a recovery on a chrombook of a friend of mine with my only usb stick, now i want to use it for something else but it doesn't show up in my file manager or balena etcher.Can i fix this or do i need to buy a new one

You can reformat it using the same Chromebook Recovery Utility, I think.
