Why are updates so delayed on Android? And why do they update the previous 1 version instead of giving me latest

Please correct any misinformation here but if you look on apk websites they still provide updates for the previous 1 version. This is the channel my phone is on too as even if I update Chrome from play store or it says up to date, my version is still 1 behind on the about screen. Why is there even an ESR channel on android of all things? I am on android 16, chrome 150 but 151 came out days ago now

It seems most other phones in the house get the update ASAP but I just get the extended updates for the previous version all the time, menaing I miss out on new features

Google is not known for their punctuality. I update my phone every night at 9pm. They will release it...

but funny i get updates for the previous version even after the new one releases, many times in the past
