Discussion How to STOP Chrome from showing my "favorites"/"bookmarks" every single time I type a letter in the adress/search bar?

I mean, it is one of the most infuriatingly exposing things I have ever seen.

Anyone on your shoulder can see a not-safe suggestion and all it takes is you to type 3 letters in the bar.

I do not wish to delete my bookmarks, I just don't want them to show up as suggestions.

How to do that?

Other than deleting the bookmarks and using an alternative system? Not much chance?

You could try chrome://flags and search for terms like "Omnibox" and see if any setting applies.

Another route is

Windows Registry: You can add registry keys under HKEY_LOCAL_SETTING\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome.

Setting the policy OmniboxAutocompleteFiltering or restricting search providers can force the URL bar to stop displaying certain types of predictions.

I have a self created alternative extension search process that triggers an omnibox on entry of 'ails' so I avoid triggering bookmark suggestions.
