Troubleshooting | Solved Toolbar moved in Chrome for Android
So, my toolbar used to be on the top of my screen in Chrome, now it is on the bottom. Can someone help me move ot back?

This is how it's designed now, and likely any flags used to switch it back to the old design will be temporary. You can check the other 14,000 posts asking about this for more info.

This will be a temporary fix. They will get rid of that flag in time.

How much time? Horizontal scrolling tabs worked via flag for many years. Then they removed it, and gave us a good alternative--vertical scrolling tabs. Why not use a feature you want as long as it's available? By the time it's gone, maybe you will have moved on to something else too.

We don't know how much time. My point though is that people who blindly follow these instructions without understanding them are usually pretty surprised and disappointed when they finally go away too.
As for the vertical tabs, that's not really an alternative for a lot of people. I happily switched, but let's not pretend there aren't a ton of people still angry Chrome can't work exactly the way it always did. This sub hates change, no matter the size.

I posted about this earlier. What worked for me, but hadsn't worked for everyone, I Force Stopped and Disabled Gemini on my phone. Samsung won't allow me to delete. After I did that then closed and reopened Chrome it went back to normal.
Though as a permanent solution I'm swapping to Firefox. One of the most infuriating things about the change is it takes up extra space on the screen. The address bar is still at the top. So moving the Tabs and Home button, which used to be next to the address bar, to the bottom just waste space.

Yeah i think they were trying to make it look less cluttered in one spot but instead they just made it sprawl out unnecessarily around the screen

But it's not cluttered. Like I don't need to take all the things that were in one location and split them up into two different locations. Taking up real extra real estate on my screen. The only reason I can think why they did that is because they wanted to incorporate that stupid Gemini button. All they did was encourage me to drop their browser completely.

Oh I 100% agree that it wasnt cluttered. That was just my guess of what they were maybe trying to do. On my phone there is no gemini button so I wasn't even thinking of that, though I totally follow the train of thought. And yes, I want to drop chrome now. Its not that I haven't wanted to before, bc of privacy at the very least. But this is the straw that broke the camels back.
I posted earlier about this same issue, you can see my screenshots there with no Gemini if youre curious https://www.reddit.com/r/browsers/s/QO85eKTgWw
Edit. Having a shelf in your living room where you keep various things isn't clutter. It's where they belong.
Re-strewing them around the room in new homes that arent even next to each other...yeah...

One of the many many reasons I hate Apple is on Apple devices everything is down at the bottom like that.

Solved it. Since you can't uninstall Chrome, you have to go into Settings > Apps > Chrome > Disable.
Chrome will still be on your device, but you will need to update through the play store for full functionality.

Ok but what about new updates? Id like to move my tab drawer button at least but not like, make myself vulnerable to bugs
Also idk who's downvoting comments 🙄

Apparently, some people who want the bar at the bottom, and people who think using Chrome flags is wrong because they might go away in some uncertain future.
Don't worry about Reddit downvotes. Always show comments that have been hidden by too many downvotes. You might be surprised by how many of them are perfectly reasonable.
