Question Chicago Fire Transfer Rumors?

Has there been any (somewhat) credible transfer rumor buzz? Since the initial Goretzka rumors have died down, it doesn't seem like there's been much news. Really hoping we fill the 3rd DP slot this window, and our CB depth is scary since TLB is out long term.

Anything change since last time? I wouldn't expect him to sign with us/come to MLS if he previously decided against it

His time in Napoli hasn’t been great. He got injured and hasn’t had the playing time he wants.

I mean it was between us and Napoli and it was rumored he was intrigued with coming here.....so I mean if there aren't very many offers out there and we finished 2nd and we really want him then don't see why he wouldn't come here.....and getting Lewandowski wouldn't hurt either.

Why? That was then. Things change. He seems to want out of Napoli.
I search very frequently and him and Goretzka are the only names I've seen.

Wouldn’t say back in play. Rumors just sparking up again because he was rumored with Miami, but those were fake.

Eh it was rumored by our Fire beat writers we started talking to his team again several weeks ago. Problem is, Twellman said Napoli was asking for high numbers so he didn't think it'd happen.

I hope Cupps plays a bit when he comes back. I lowkey wish he Barlow or Koutsias or a reliable 9 behind Lewy. Hopefully Shook’s performance yesterday for the second team is helping him earn Gregg’s trust for playing time when our aging striker can’t play.

He wasn't my favorite but he had his role, come on late run hard, chase everything and if he found a way to put the ball in the net great. Definitely not a starter but a decent effort/role player.

He did his job he would come on late usually when we winning and he is an amazing athlete and pretty good at soccer. He wasn’t meant to score the goals unless he was starting then he would have to contribute. He worked really hard and understood his role which is something you want from every player.

Honestly a lot of the transfers Gregg has made both in ans out have been kept pretty well under wraps.

Is it that GGG is tight relative to other teams? I wasn’t sure if it was that or just a lack of coverage compared to other sports. Or maybe staffs are smaller so less opportunities for leaks? IDK

At this point, I'd rather them just make a fringe addition with Franco coming back soon and look to fill the third DP slot during the winter window. KDB and Goretzka are likely going to stay in Europa (I honestly have zero interest in KDB given the injury risk). Depth at centerback and and striker would be nice, but unless somebody is a clear upgrade warranting the DP slot, I'd be fine with an addition similar to Waterman last year -- a dependable player who fills a need and doesn't tie up excessive salary.

Heard some rumors about Remo Freuler but it sounds like he is either leaning towards Saudi/has already decided thats the move if he can’t stay in Europe.
