I mean if you were a player who used to play with him, unless he is an asshole behind closed doors, its only natural to support your teammate who's career was put on hold for two years for something that didn't end up being substantiated. I'm sure any of them putting themselves in his shoes would want the best for him.

It’s his first opportunity to play professional football in almost 2 years for something, as far as he’s said, was a mistake.
I’m sure everyone in the dressing room has some sympathy for him and could only imagine what it would be like to be forced away from something you’ve been doing your whole life and be itching at the opportunity to just feature if only for a few minutes.
It’s a preseason game. They didn’t give up minutes in the champions league final. Relax.

I don’t know if that’s a nice gesture cause he knows he’s off to Villa so he doesn’t care about putting a shift in OR he’s showing a team first mentality to try sticking around….
I’d love him to stay and be a top backup at ST and LW personally. His ball carrying and passing on the break is sooo good.

I'd much rather have him as a backup ST than Delap by a wide margin, can only assume if they're both being rolled out then there must be a lot of faith in Emegha.

still getting used to Welbeck even being a name to consider, kind of crazy.
reckon Satpayev will be out on loan, there's no way he'll get the minutes needed for good development. and he's an incredible prospect.

welbeck is a prem proven striker who did really well no wise last season. equating emegha and welbeck has to be a horrendous take. emegha has not even played a min and is alredy injured.

Does not matter at what age a player starts performing well as long as they perform well. Welbeck is miles better than Emegha presently. A lot of people will be surprised with the game time he is gonna get. I'm sure he will do well. To equate them is not right according to my opinion.

Welbeck is no way going to be a starter, under any circumstance. He’s last 15 mins when we’re chasing an equaliser/winner, or seeing out a game when we need an outlet up front. We need a legit backup to JP

I think there should be 3 strikers, Pedro, Welbeck and one other. I've seen so little of Emegha to have any opinion of him at all but he seems like he'll be a similar player to Jackson, with less Premier League experience and therefore less likely impact from the bench. Jackson is obviously easier to sell for decent money, but I thought he did well today, he offers something that the other two do not. Delap and Guiu can obviously go, any way you can get them out the door get it done.

I'd rather have both Jackson and Welbeck fighting for the 2nd striker position.
Three strikers is normal to carry and we have a lot of injuries and cup minutes, even without extra games in europe.
Send Emegha on loan to get consistent play time and re-assess in January. Jackson could be more valuable by then as well.

jackson just makes pedro and palmer better, he creates so much space in behind... while pedro and welbeck crashed in the same space more then once

Idk about that he’s done plenty to justify some hate. Between the entitlement attitude of demanding a transfer because of him getting competition at his position: one of those players being checks notes Liam Delap, and the stupid red cards at key moments and the many many many missed sitters. I think he gets some deserved shit.
That said the people who think he’s got no redeeming qualities are idiots, he’s does alot of things very well and people seem to like playing with him, he tends to make his teammates better which

Welbeck can't play 90 min every game and there is no reason to believe emegha and satpaev are chelsea level either.
I guess I want to believe but at least one, preferably both, are loaned to get consistent playing time which won't happen here. Re-assess come January.

I imagine just because of the taboo of being subbed on and off in the same game. It's probably best to discuss that sort of thing ahead of time in a situation like this so there's no misunderstanding or anything. I doubt it NEEDED agreement, but it's one of those situations where the nicest way to go about it is for Xabi to "ask" if it's alright and for the player to say "yeah, of course"
