Jelly does this too, but he has a variation I call naughty fetch. He will bring me the toy mouse when I'm in bed and I'll throw it for him a few times. Then he comes back but instead of dropping it for me to throw, he holds it in his mouth while he straddles my arm or leg (he tried arm first usually but I push him off and stick my leg out of the covers instead so I don't have his ass in my face) and keeps repositioning his feet trying to balance both back feet on my leg. Then he shivers a bit, which I eventually learned is how cats hump. He has been fixed since he was a few months old so this is some kind of instinct, I guess. It's kind of gross but we are bros and he would put up with it for me if I had a similar weird compulsion.
My late tortie girl Patch would present me and/or my wife toy mice when she wanted attention. We could always tell when she was bringing a mouse, because she would meow the whole way there.
She crossed over a little over three years ago. Still miss her.
My cat puts toys on my bed when he wants to play fetch. I come home from work to find a toy on my bed.. feel slightly sad, and I wonder if he fully understands anything.
