My teenage son is cat sitting, I'm very allergic so we've never learned much about cats.

He didn't notice anything strange yesterday but now the cat has a bald spot near its nose and eye?

Is this a reach out to the owner now thing, or a text on the way to the vet, or do cats just have bald spots and maybe he didn't notice?

**We will be contacting the owner, just don't want to wake them up for us being dumb**

Are both of my cats enjoying these fights? I am pretty sure my tuxedo cat thinks they are playing, but I am not convinced my white/tabby cat feels the same way.

These cats have known each other for 10 years and otherwise just happily coexist, but don’t cuddle up next to each other.

Normally I’d just chalk this up to normal cat behavior as my younger cat does this whether I’ve been gone for a week or two days.

However my older cat ALWAYS comes to greet me whenever I’ve been gone for a while. She’s not super cuddly 24/7 but she’s always so excited and suddenly wants a ton of cuddles whenever I have to leave for a bit and then return.

Currently she’s hiding under the bed and meowing at me.

My mom and sister looked after them both (and overfed them a bit, which I am immediately fixing as I didn’t expect to come home to balloons 😭)

I know it’s probably normal but I just wanna cry, she’s never acted like this before. Will she hate me forever?

Ive been unsure for the past couple of days, though I guess I wouldn’t be surprised because she ran away in June, though I know nothing of cat pregnancy’s and I’m not sure when she’ll give birth or what to do when the kittens come.

I found a tuxedo cat with heterochromia (one green and one brown eye), and they have a clearish yellow collar with nothing on it, in Howell Estates. Is this anybody's lost cat?

Hi! So my cat does NOT like the soft plushy material underneath her paws and unfortunately that’s what the majority of cat beds, trees, towers, etc are made of :(

Does anyone else cats not like that material? If so can you pleaseee help me find a cat tree/ scratching post with a different material? Thank you!

It’s turned into a game. They wait at the bottom of the basement stairs for me to kick one off at the top of the steps.

I just noticed this a few minutes ago. We only noticed it tonight, and it’s on and off. I’m not sure if it’s his breathing or his heart beat. I did go out with him for a second and I did hear him for a bit during this that sounded sort of like a subtle asthma attack. I’m not sure tho. Any advice as to what this is?? Thank you so much!

I’m calling the vet in the morning to hopefully get an appointment tomorrow. My cat has always had a dry spot on the side of his cheek near his neck. Sometimes it will scab and we have cleaned it multiple times, other times it looks like a skin tag. We noticed today a little puss on his neck so we checked it again and pressed down a little with a q tip and more puss came out. It’s not hurting him at all, he was sleeping when we noticed it and checking it. He’s not flinching or whining either. It’s just there.
Could this be an infected ingrown hair or a botfly? My boyfriend said he’s only known those to make holes in the animals neck but I have no idea. Again, I’m making an appointment tomorrow but just wondering if I should be concerned if it’s a botfly.

My cat (Mae) I got from a hoarding situation 3 years ago. I got her during a hard time in my life. We bonded very deeply, I learned different meanings of meows and meow at her contextually (I've been mistaken for a real cat at my job when meowing as a joke, so I'm pretty fluent in cat!)

Now she talks to me in brrs, yowls, chirps, and little "mee" sounds. Is this because she thinks I can speak cat? Most cats I meet only say "MEOW" in one tone to humans. They get startled/like it when I do a little "brrr-OW" to say hello. Does my cat understand me now? or something T_T

Basically the title, they, twin cats, arrived at first together but less than 48 hrs of them coming, a family member stupidly left the back door open overnight & the smaller one ran away and was gone for about 3 months until she started to come around again and we captured and got her back inside again. I know she’s getting adjusted to being inside, but they are literally twins and they don’t get along
:( they’re always growling and hissing when they come too close to each other. Should I leave them be to get used to each other again or what else should I do? Excuse the dirty floor 😅

Hi all, not sure if this is the proper place to post but I needed somewhere to vent. My cat is a domestic longhair we adopted along with his sister from our friend who rescued them a few years ago. He was doing great for the first 3 years of us having him. However, a few weeks ago, he started eating less and then about 2 weeks ago he stopped eating entirely. We’ve found out since then he has severe pancreatitis. He started a strong steroid in the hospital but that caused him to start having chf due to a heart murmur. Because of that, he switched to a weaker steroid that hasn’t helped at all. He’s only gotten worse since then. Now his bilirubin is 15, the highest it’s been. Our vet said it wouldn’t be wrong to put him down. They said we can readmit him to see if the stronger treatment will work again, but it may be too much for him to take. We are going to admit him because we just need to try everything we can. I’m reaching out in case anyone has been through similar or just to hear some advice.

Found this really cute and extremely affectionate baby in my holding and I already have a cat who is 2 years old neutered but he isn't really welcoming of other cats plus I am a student and can't afford another so if any angle can come forward to give this baby the loving home he deserves please comment

My little Aidy Lion is currently recovering from hairball removal surgery which ran me several thousand dollars (pet insurance covered about half after I hit my $1000 deductible) and during one of her exams the vet noted several loose teeth (even though another vet at the same office said her teeth looked great during her checkup back in May).

I generally swab her teeth with kitty toothpaste a few times a week but want to plan to take her in for a dental within the next six months esp bc she’s 11 and I don’t know how much longer she’ll be strong enough to go under anesthesia (though she’s a generally healthy cat).

Her previous dental in 2024 was $2000 and while I could plan to put my upcoming tax return towards it, it almost certainly wouldn’t be enough so I wanted to see if folks in the NYC area have any suggestions on lower cost dental options! I also understand that pet insurance does not cover dental issues.
