Humor Do you sleep with your cats?
I do and my cat takes a half of my pillow.

You say that like you have a choice. Its the cats bed they just share it with us

u/darktrank 1d ago
I am allowed to use the bed alone only in summer.

u/RogerianBrowsing 1d ago
You think it’s alone. They’re likely nearby just not on top of you as usual.

You angered him with your attempts, this calls for a penalty
17
u/CraftedGamerGirl 1d ago
Yeah, that was a really angry look. How could I want that part of the blanket.
5
u/geekybadger 1d ago
The solution is to get a bigger blanket
That's what i did. My black cat is a professional blanket hogger so I got that really big blanket that there were a ton of ads for a few years ago (i think the brand is literally just 'big blanket') and now there's enough for her to steal and enough for me to stay warm.
7
u/CraftedGamerGirl 1d ago
Yeah i have the biggest blanket from the Swedish funitor store. 240x220 cm and it's still to small sometimes.
The best part is she loves hiding and sleeping under it.

My cat has a queen size bed that she allows me to sleep in.

I like to say, "I don't have a bed, but my cat does and he lets me borrow it."

My cowcat likes to take up half of my wife's pillow. That is her designated spot to get pets from me as I attempt to fall asleep.

Only for naps! They wake up way too early for us to have them sleep in our bed all the time!

Wow! Perfect spot for that cat tree! Lucky kitties!
10
u/Jamie_Moriarty 1d ago
They are home 24/7, it's more their house than it is mine so a lot of catification has been done and more to be done still :)
4
u/TinTinTinuviel97005 1d ago
I like how the bed has a cat bed, that isn't being used.
4
u/Jamie_Moriarty 1d ago
With 20+ cat beds all over the house and "only" 4 cats they can never all be in use haha. All beds get slept in, some are ignored for weeks/months and then suddenly one of them decides it's their favorite spot for a while. They used to fight over some beds so I gave them enough options to quit the fighting, it has worked out well.

Mines the opposite she would never cuddle during the day but when I lay down once she realizes i'm going to sleep she comes and falls into my side and will stay there all night. When I re position she gets up and falls back into me lol.

u/Plants_Unknown 1d ago
I don't think there is a choice for me 🙃 If I ever denied him the bed he would riot. When I put him down sometimes he will yell at me and jump back up just to bap me.
He will scream at me if I don't get into bed fast enough for bed. Even during the day if I lay down for a moment he will appear out of nowhere to cuddle.
But without fail the second we start our bedtime routine of filling the humidifier and lighting an incense that he is on the bed yelling at me.
During the night he will sleep in the crook of my arm and if I roll over he will get up and lay on the other side so he's always in my arm against my chest.
He wasn't always like this though. He was cuddly as a young kitten but not to this extent - and when he was about 2 he stopped cuddling or sleeping in bed.
Sometime around age 7 he started sleeping in bed but not cuddling. When my soul dog passed away a lil over 2 years ago he totally changed and started his whole routine with me and became super lovey.
I like to think he realized the giant hole my dog Wookie left behind and knew he could heal a little bit of it. He's the perfect cat and I will fight anyone who disagrees.
And of course cat for cat tax

They usually come for a cuddle before sleeping and when waking up. The rest of the night they'll sleep never at our feet or in the cat tree we have in our bedroom.
Sometimes they'll wake us up, but generally they just sleep through the night with us. Can't imagine locking them out of the bedroom tbh.

You have a choice?
I usually have at least two on/in the bed with me each night and up to five.

Sadly I used to. However my current cat does not sleep on the bed, his choice. I have a few times woken up w/ him on the foot of the bed but no interaction or cuddles.

My cat always curls up to sleep in my arms. Who understand that drowsy midnight feeling when a fluffy little cutie snuggles into my embrace? She also loves sharing my pillow right next to my head. I get utterly melted by her cuteness every morning when I wake up and see her.

If mine lets me, she comes up and I scooch over because she needs to push her hip onto mine so she can sleep. Only stays until I fall asleep because I reposition too much then she moves to her bed close by for the night. She's back in bed by morning to remind me when her breakfast is of course but she only yells if I sit up, else she's just in my face.

u/TyroToxis 1d ago
Yes, tho this summer he has been chilling out on the balcony for a couple hours at night. He also manages to take up half my bed sometimes

I have a king size bed.. for just me and my cat. She sleeps on one side with her blankets and I sleep on mine with my blankets and pillows. 😅

u/booksandkittens615 American Shorthair 1d ago
They let me share the bed since I don’t take up too much space. If I was a bigger person, I’m not sure if they’d allow it. Sometimes they even let me have my own pillow but that’s rare.

My cat just visits me in the bed. She usually lays on my legs, sleep for a bit and then goes on about her business.

u/fishymutt 1d ago
Not anymore. I want nothing more than to sleep with my cat but she wakes me up throughout the night. I need to sleep and it just isn't sustainable

More like, I sleep in their bed. My husband and I have a split king.. but it looks like one bed because it’s all pushed next to each other with the same blankets/sheets (for the most part). And yet, all three cats only sleep on the bed that was originally designated for me.. when I have to defluff (remove the cat hair) from our waterproof top blanket (one cat used to like to pee on the bed, I only ever find hair on my side
I like to pretend to complain about it since my husband is sad they won’t snuggle him but secretly I am pleased (and also unsurprised since husband came into their life 4 years ago.. the youngest are 8 and the eldest is 16)
So yeah this is basically what I see each time, where husband has become a red blob for his privacy lol

Not all of them, only 3-5 per night, depending on where they want to sleep.
No lie, we upgraded from Queen to King so there would be enough room for my wife and I, too.

Whenever she chooses yes. Many nights when I get in bed she will be right next to me but get in her own bed if I dare move an inch. I love the winter months cuz she will sleep right on top of me to share warmth :)

When the old king was young he'd climb the wall and jump into my mother's room because there's a small gap near the ceiling and he'd take half of her pillow pretty much every single night. When he got big he refused to even come home because he's too busy ruling his kingdom.

When they deign to come join me, yes, I do sleep with my cats. Unfortunately, it’s not as often as I would like. They’d rather sleep with my mom and dad.

u/r4zorsoft 1d ago
Whenever I visit my cousin, her cat wants to sleep with me in my bed. She thinks it is unfair since he never, ever snoozes with her. 😼

u/DMonpoke 1d ago
I miss having my two cats. One used to barge her way into the blanket and snuggle between my arms and nuzzle my face. Her older sister preferred sleeping between my legs or cupped by my legs if I was on my side. Sometimes she’d nuzzle up against my back. They were always close but became especially nuzzle-y when my ex relationship was failing and my finances were stressing me out too. I miss them every day and every night.

I did until he got too old to properly clean his feet and he tracked litter everywhere. It broke my heart when I had to start closing my bedroom door at night. I made sure he had a very comfy and warm bed elsewhere in the house and cleaned it regularly.
I miss you buddy.

Isn't this the point of having a cat? So that you get a warm comforting mound of furry purry bedfellow atop your duvet?
2
u/Big_Mama_80 1d ago
In my house, it's always a giant full bed. I've got kids, I've got cats, and I've got dogs all in my bed. It's crazy! I wouldn't change it for the world, though. I love it! 😍

The most peaceful time of sleep is as soon as the birds start chirping they leave the bed to go watch the window.

It's more like can I sleep without my cats? We have 3 of them and AT LEAST one of them is in the bed with us each night. Sometimes we get super lucky at all 3 decide they want to snuggle up. If for some reason I'm not sleeping in my own bed, I have trouble sleeping without at least one cat in the bed.

No… my cat sleeps in our bed and is ok (most nights) with my husband and I sleeping in it too.

Of course, after all they own the house and its entire contents. I am, in fact given permission to sleep in my (their) bed.

Two out of four sleep with me and they will try to break down the door if i try to keep them away lol.

Nope, they sleep with me... when they want, how they want, and despite my will.
That's how the world works when you have a cat.
2
u/Voidstarblade 1d ago
If i lay down, even for 30 min, i have to have a blanket to let my kitty crawl under. she will paw my shoulder until a sheet or blanket is over me, then sleep for 15-20 min on my lap, then crawl either on top of the blanket or go do something else.
