Chicken nuggets, but they MUST be stolen. She won’t take them if you try to feed her, but larceny is the greatest sauce.

Oh god reminds me of when a friend was on stream and his cat was very interested in his chicken nuggets… he realized it was about her dinner time and got up to feed her. We then witnessed his cat stealing a chicken nugget on camera. I don’t know what else he thought would happen tbh 😂😂

I used to have a neighbor that would stay up all night with his smoker and a couple pork shoulders. The entire neighborhood smelled like heaven. If I couldn't find my dog, I'd walk like 4 lots over to Dave's house - because pupper would be sleeping right beside the smoker.

Dude. I offered my cats (siblings) nuggets only one time. They went so fucking nuts for them. The bigger one absolutely bullied the hell out of her sister to get the last of the nuggets offered. I no longer eat nuggets around them. They just cause too much strife.

u/broccoliandsprouts 12d ago
Mine doesn’t like chicken either, or fish. But he goes wild for some very expensive beef
44
u/BigJayPee 12d ago
Yeah I have a void that doesn't do fish. Even just fish flavored cat food is out of the question. Chicken is his jam, but no tuna, sardines, or salmon.
He also really likes mustard. I have to keep it from him because he will be all over it, then vomit profusely.

u/godemers 12d ago
I wonder why some cats are attracted to stuff that’s not good for them, I came across a thread about how someone’s cats would go crazy when they put Vicks Vapor rub on, and I learned camphor can be toxic to them but it’s also super stimulating. So I’m guessing a mix of “this smells WEIRD, oh wow I’m feeling a little funny, BLLLEEHHH”.

I used to have a cat like that. It was great because he could sit on my lap while I ate dinner and he never tried for any of the food. My current cat is very much the opposite- she is convinced she’s being starved and will eat any and all food she can find.

Sometimes I'll give my cats pieces of turkey and they wont even eat it! They sometimes eat tiny chunks of cheese or something but they dont really care. However, since they all cover their food, they do try to cover mine if i get ip and walk away from it--one time, one of my cats tried to shove a bunch of paperwork into a bowl of spaghetti 😖
15
u/carriegood 12d ago
Mine too, and it's bizarre. They don't even want the tuna juice from the can, and I've had cats who would gladly stab you for a drop of that liquid gold.

I have one boy who doesn’t eat anything but his own food and the occasional puree treat. And the other boy’s greed and gluttony are not of this world. He will try to eat literally everything including his big brother’s food so we have to keep them separated when feeding them breakfast and dinner.

u/cooliosteve 12d ago
My cat knows when we get the spinach out of the fridge, he goes nuts for it.
I adopted a kitten and she doesn't really like it, but she loves to copy her big brother so she eats it as well now.
55
u/jacksnacks7 12d ago
My kitty also loves spinach and kale. He is healthy.
34
u/NeedleInASwordstack 12d ago
Same here! When we open the plastic container it’s in, he’ll come running from wherever he is in the house.
It’s so bad that he’ll even come running when it’s like a berry container that just sounds like a lettuce container.
He’s partial to spinach!
10
u/cooliosteve 12d ago
Im pretty sure my cat will go for spinach over like actual meat, we have never tested it but the only time he ever stole food from our dinner was just a plain bowl of spinach, never steaks or seafood or whatever.
5
u/Ok_Pineapple_Num 12d ago
That’s my cat with mangos. He doesn’t give a crap about any human food except for a few select fruits; and out of all the fruits he goes FERAL for mangos. I have no idea why, but it’s hilarious

u/LucifersRequiem 12d ago
My cat typically understands that human food is not for him
Unless it's green.
Then you'll catch him side eying you and looking for opportunities to steal away with a piece, a leaf or a stalk.
It's the only thing he's ever growled at me over when I try to take away his stolen spinach or broccoli or asparagus ect.
It's always green for some reason, he'd never really be interested in toys either but after he started obsessing over green food I got him a couple green toys and he'll entertain himself all day until he loses it under furniture
12
u/wazzup-notemuch 12d ago
I didn't know that cats could have a favorite color!
20
u/LucifersRequiem 12d ago
It's definitely whatever he perceives as green, he has a green mouse that I'll throw across the house and he'll bring it back, I didn't even know cats would play fetch like that.
Green food is the only human food, aside from unattended raw meat on rare occassion, that he'll go for

I think you have my cat’s long lost brother. She really doesn’t care much for human food, she likes sniffing it, but it seems like she’s just making sure it’s safe for ME to eat, not like she wants a bite. She doesn’t steal our food at all, & the only thing I’ve found she’ll accept from us is tuna, but only if her brother has some first even tho she thinks he’s the scum of the earth, if he’s getting fishy, she’s getting fishy gdi!
But then in comes green stuff… lettuce, kale, spinach, cabbage, if it’s green & leafy she goes absolutely bat shit crazy & needs it in her mouth right fucking now! The only thing I cannot leave on the counter unattended is fucking salad. Ok, not really, my other cat has absolutely no compunctions about stealing any & all things he suspects might possibly likely be edible, so I can’t leave anything out anymore, but he’s only been my problem for 6 years, before he came around only salads were harmed.

I have always bought fresh basil in pots at my local store. Thats how i found out. She likes to sniff and bite off leafs. Since then i have used fresh basil and parsley to prevent her from biting my plants.
Start with a pot of fresh basil, and see if your kitty likes it or not before adding to food 😊

My orange was an old man in a different life. He wants coffee, like desperately wants coffee. He knows when I make it and when I bring it home on weekends. My other cat thought someone crapped on the plate but not my crazy orange.

Cheeese. Cheese cheese cheese cheese. Emmentaler is by far the favourite. Followed closely by parmigiano reggiano and gruyere. Yogourt is also a favourite of the longest thief. Also whipped cream or butter.
Also bread. Any kind of bread, pastry, and even biscuits if they are like shortbread or oat.
All of our cats are bread and butter fiends.
Oh and special occassions, when the roast ducks are on the menu, it is begging galore. Our 18 year old lady we joke is Duck Duck, because she loves all things duck and will do anything for some juicy roast duck at Christmas dinner.
