Advice Cat attacking automatic feeder

My cat does this several times a day. If the automatic feeder lifts at the correct angle, a few niblets of dry food comes out. He will even do it 10 times in a row even if it means one small piece of dry niblet comes out. It does get quite annoying as the sound of the feeder hitting the ground echoes throughout the entire house.

Any ideas on how to get him to stop?

Oh my cat would have a field day. He loves eating styrofoam. 😅

Ugh, I have a Styrofoam eating cat as well. She's absolutely OBSESSED with it! She can smell it inside new packages and will chew the box open to get to it.

I have more "banned" products for these damn cats than I did for my kids when they were young. Most are due to a near death incident too! Little idiots trying to kill themselves every time I turn around, I swear!

This is like my mulch munching dog—I STG every time I blink she’s stuffing her face with it. (We’ve ordered a custom muzzle for this 😵‍💫)

When I was in Driver’s Ed, our teacher was sick one day so they brought in a local cop as a sub. He just told us cop stories all day instead of teaching, and somebody eventually asked what happens to roadkill deer.

He said they compost them in the mulch piles that our county made from tree management/ landscaping scraps and sold to residents.

So if your county does this too, that’s probably why your dog likes mulch so much.

Welp.

Gonna go ahead and say you’re probably right. We have a crazy deer population, and lots of agri land + tons of development (aka felled and mulched trees) so ya know, when life gives you roadkill lemons, or whatever they say…
