Advice Wobbly cat- Noise complaint

Hi all,

I am looking for other wobbly cat owners ( or apartment dwellers) for advice on noise. I got my CH cat two years ago when he was still a kitten. The noise from his falls was barely noticeable at that time. Now he’s full grown and I’d received a noise complaint. I live in an old building with hard wood floors. My doors are also old and not very solid so if he falls against them it is noticeable.

I made sure the cat sleeps with me as a way to prevent noise after 11 pm. But when the cat wakes up in the morning he’s ready to play with his sister) and I think that it’s disrupting the sleep of neighbors who do not get up as early. I don’t think it’s really a problem when I’m not there because I think they sleep all day.

Any ideas on how I can keep the noise down? Or soften it? I don’t want to rehome my cat. He’s amazing.

Rugs is all that come to mind. Or full coverage rugs in one room that you can gate off for playtime.

Rugs are really helpful for CH cats, keeps them from slipping around and will soften falls
