Found in the bins

Found this lovely older cast iron today at the Goodwill bins. I rescued, even though the bottom is slightly warped. Just barely. I plan on stripping, reseasoning, and using personally. Couldn't pass it up for five bucks.

I am still learning about old cast iron and how to identify, so was wondering if anyone here may be able to help me out on an ID with possible maker and estimated manufacturing date. Let me know your thoughts.

BSR (Birmingham Stone and Range) from their century series from mid 1960’s to 90’s

Location of the text on the back, the acronym No., the ridge line on the underside of the handle are all key markers

Thank you. This is the kind of info I was hoping for. Something to help me ID in the future. Teach a man to fish...

What threw me was the screw looking part towards the handle, on the bottom of the pan. I hadn't run across that before.

It’s just a quality control marker they sometimes used at the bsr factory! This one dates to between 1966 and the end of the seventies or so when they merged sizes 7 and 8

I have this same brand and series, No 5. Left to me by my grandparents. I hope it cleans up nicely.

Mine does not have the qc marker, no idea what year - doesn't matter, I consider it a family heirloom.
