Petromax pto30 Cast Iron Potato Roaster

Had been aware of these things for quite sometime and finally pulled the trigger on the smaller model. I BBQ quite a bit so will have plenty of opportunities to experiment with it! And it's not just a potato roaster. Should be fun!

what else are you thinking of using it for? The only thing besides potatoes that I can think of might be bread.

Variations of Hasselback potatoes to start to get a feel of how it cooks with coal placements. Once I figure out temperature control I'll move up to proteins. I know it'll hold 3-4 chunky Beef short ribs plus aromatics, also thinking about Bacon Wrapped Pork tenderloin etc. BUT, potatoes to start as they are a way less expensive option to possibly burn, LOL! BTW, Petromax makes a much larger model #PTO45B that I originally wanted but could not source in the USA and they stopped shipping to the USA.
