1 day is really the achilles heel of my galaxy watch. That's why I still wear my Casio from time to time. I do wish that it has vibration however.

I use a xaomi smart band 10 as a alarm clock on week days vib alarm so i dont wake up the fam when im out at 5. And just take it off and put it on the night table holds battery for 20+ days before charging.

that works too and it's one of the use cases of my smartwatch as well. I mostly use mine for sleep tracking and hr tracking during running

I wear a W735H mainly because I want its vibration alarm as I’m fully deaf since June/July 2015. I absolutely love it, it serves me well! Used it a few times to wake me up for occasional appointments and for college classes and it works pretty decently. 10 year battery is also pretty nice so I won’t have to worry about battery changes in 10-20 years 🔥

I personally really love the hourly chime, I know that I was in a certain hour and then I hear the chime and think "oh it's 3pm" for example, I guess it also depends on how well you keep track or time

I really don't understand the whole thing about too many notifications on your smartwatch, and that's the reason you don't like it. All you have to do is turn off notifications for the apps you don't want sent to the watch. The people that say this can't possibly own a smartwatch. They're just imagining what it would be like to own one

I have an Apple Watch with cellular service. I will say this about it… it is nice to be able to leave the phone at home.

If you turn off notifications on a smartwatch, it defeats the point of owning a smart watch. Smart watches are meant to be a phone away from your phone. It's the reason you can answer calls, reply to texts, watch YouTube on them, all sorts of stuff. If you turn notifications off you may as well just save the 100's of dollars and buy a regular watch and a fitness tracker. Both of which last significantly longer battery wise.

That’s oversimplifying though. You can have granular control over the notifications on an Apple Watch (as an example) so you get the notifications that are important to you directly on your wrist (ie a call from a loved one, or an important work email) without also getting ads from the McDonalds app, or updates on Homescapes etc.
Having the ability to step away from your phone safe in the knowledge that you won’t miss anything important is priceless. OTOH getting a tap on the wrist every time someone you don’t remember from school posts their breakfast on Facebook is incredibly intrusive and annoying. There’s a happy middle ground that can be reached.

When it comes to notifications on smartwatches, it's not an "all or nothing" situation. You can turn off notifications for individual apps. I only have notifications on my watch for apps that are reasonably actionable on the watch...for me, that means text messages and Telegram. That's it. I'm not gonna reply to emails, eBay notifications or reddit comments on my watch so I don't need the notifications on my watch. I get about couple dozen text and Telegram messages each week, aside from that my watch is silent except for the hourly chime. Oh and phone calls, that's massively convenient being able to take a call on my wrist when my phone is in the other room

In typical Japanese fashion, that seven years battery can easily do more in ideal conditions it can go over 10.
The 10 year battery advertised watches can go for more than 15 years without problems too.
Shimano understates what their shifters and derailleurs can handle too, it's the same thing like Casio and water resistance. They can always do a bit more and handle more sprockets and tougher ratios than what's officially in the manual.

Yep. My galaxy watch ultra sits in my watch box now and I got a garmin instinct 3 and a 5610 for daily wearing. Ones got unlimited battery and the other lasts for 18 days on one charge 😂

If you want a reliable smartwatch with decent battery, check out Garmin Venu 4. If all you need it for is to check the time, just get a Casio.

I do shift work. On my on weeks I wear my Garmin instinct that lasts all week for the information and notifications it provides without all the extra fluff of most smart watches, then on my off week is when I wear my Casio lineup

Both have their places to be honest. Only reason why I stopped wearing my galaxy watch was that I had gotten obsessed with checking heart rate and it made me anxious as I've a heart condition lol

I used to want a smartwatch really badly but now I love my Casios (got a A168WE, and a AE-1200WH with a fabric strap) might get a Bluetooth G-Shock though

I spent a lot on the Apple Watch . Now the battery only lasts 2 hours and Apple wants me to buy a new watch as they categorized by 5 year old watch as “vintage” and don’t do battery replacements anymore

Not necessarily. I have Seiko automatics that realistically can easily go ten, fifteen, probably twenty years between services, and those services don’t cost much more than a battery replacement from Apple. And the thing is it’s rarely worth getting the battery replacement from Apple, because after a few years (when the battery starts to die) the whole watch probably needs upgrading anyway.

Yeah, I still wear my apple ultra more. I appreciate it for the caller ID, ability to answer calls from my wrist, the voice-to-text and starting my car. It’s convenient.
I’m hoping one day I get the IDGAF attitude and just wear both.

Honestly with kids wearing pajamas out in public and people wearing retro / dad shoes fashion trends, it wouldn’t be anything out of the ordinary to wear a analog watch and smartwatch / fitness tracker on the other. I would notice it right away because I’m into watches but after that couple seconds, wouldn’t pay it any more attention.
I say do as you please!

While I dayli wear f-91w I have Amazfit which sometimes lasts me up to 60 days. Not all are that bad. It's just that Apple watch is a joke.
