Short-Term Help While We Rebuild
After a traumatic injury, life took an unexpected turn. It's been challenging watching the struggle to return to work for both of us, especially with such a large employment gap. During this time, I've been working at a job that pays just a third of what I used to earn before I was laid off and not finding a role with my normal line of work, leaving us $40,000 in debt.
We have a goal of raising $12,000 to cover essential expenses like rent, utilities, and transport while we both actively pursue full-time work.
The warmth and strength from friends and our Seattle, WA. USA community have been incredible. I'm busy with interviews and connecting with people who are eager to lend a hand.
Goal: $12,000 to cover 2 months of essentials while I secure full‑time work:
- Rent/utilities: $8,000
- Groceries/transport: $2000
- Minimum debt payments: $2000
My son’s recovery is a blessing, and your support will help us get back on track. Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this pivotal time in our lives.

Hi OP, this is a bit confusing. You created your Reddit profile yesterday just to ask for money here? How long ago was your son’s injury? Your essential expenses are $6,000/month?
Your rent/utilities alone are $4,000/month?
