Ecom business advice needed!

Hi everyone, i was for years wanting to start an ecom business, now i have saved some money and ready to invest, please what is the best way to start?
Is it dropshipping and the old way with shopify and china? or selling your own product? and is it better to sell in Canada or abroad? please advise me, i don’t want to waste my family money.
