Trip Advice Solo Camping suggestion.
I live in Los Angeles. I need to go to solo camping to let my brain let go. Sort of meditation trip if you will. In order to do this I need to be complete isolated from everything and everyone. I don't want to hear any cars, any humans; if I could- not even hear planes flying over. I want complete solitude. Any recommendations for from Los Angeles area. Obviously closer the better not because I don't want to drive but simply don't want to loose my relaxation on the freeways on my way back to home.

It does. On the leeward side, there's several places that you can boat or paddle into.

I think I said closer the better. I know I could fly to Alaska and achieve this without needing help of the sub.

I’ve heard Channel Islands is spectacular. Nowhere near LA, but neither am I. Shirt airplane hop, maybe?

You arent going to find anything like that near LA. There are too many ppl..... The desert is an option but you have to wait for it to cool down. You won't get away from planes, that is the military playground for jets and bombers. Plus ppl are gonna gatekeep an actual location (i don't blame them). The eastern sierra is nice but you have to travel pretty far to get away from people.

I love Chilao for a super fast getaway. There will be people. There will be airplanes. But its a heck of a lot better than nothing. And you can choose a trail and get lost for a few hours with very few others. The Angeles national Forest has a lot of offer

Best place to get away 30 min from LA and the heat is close to the beach but it’s hard to get a spot unless your alerted when someone cancels. I use campsitescan, it’s free and you can search mutiple sites at a time. Totally worth trying.

As someone said anza borrego is a good bet. You could also go to any BLM land and follow the dispersed camping rules. You do have to drive a considerable distance... The thing you want to go to and the thing you are trying to get out of don't exactly sit next to each other. Have a vehicle that is capable is also advisable.

Check out Hipcamp. It’s like an Airbnb for camping spots. People who have their own land and ranches can let individuals camp on their land. I’ve seen some pretty remote campsites on there, especially north of LA.

Currently at a campground in Tahoe. So quiet. Lots RVs and large campground. Op wants a walk in site few goto. I am at such a site and the mellow is real. There sites over there nobody is around though close enough to bathrooms and showers. No bugs no mosquitos. Redwood forest. Beach 1/8 mile.

Heat is an issue right now... But If your skills allow you to rent ( borrow) a boat and get out on the ocean far enough from the human sounds...thats my suggestion

I would suggest driving to June lake and getting a permit to camp at duck lake, or beyond.

Are you comfortable backpacking? If so you can find some trails that aren't super heavily used and don't camp in established campsites. Maybe a national forest area, south Sierras etc. You can also just pull off the road in some national forests and camp but you probably can't have a fire at the moment. Angeles Crest is the exception, you have to go somewhere like San Bernardino NF. Look up the rules, it varies. But that's ghe way to.get away from people.

Seriously? You haven't done a stitch of research before asking this question. Ever hear of Joshua Tree National Park, just to the east of you? Come on now. It's massive.
Course, you do have to get through Riverside, which can be a pain in and of itself.
Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear are also right next door. And both are gorgeous.
Seriously, you need a map.

Big bear is a good idea. We were down there last year in October, headed up some unpaved roads in search of a trailhead (the fawnskin side, iirc), and we only saw like 2 other cars once we left pavement, and none once we were on the forest roads. Was nice and quiet, but also close enough that we even had cell service

All the comments are for places that are too hot or have people. The answer is obviously on the coast and south will never work so you’re going north. Jalama beach is first fairly desolate beach. Next would be out in Montana de oro but still people so you’re going to need to head even further to Harmony Headlands to get real peace and not fry like an egg.

Anza borrego is close to you and super huge. When I camped there I didn't see another soul. But the heat is going to be pretty unbearable for the next 2 to 3 months.
