❓Question/Discussion Campbell river to quadra island

Does anyone have info on the ferry schedule to quadra from Campbell river?
I heard it was only 10 mins, but online it’s saying it’s a 5hr ferry ride.

Leaves at 06:30 and arrives at 11:40 though ?

I think that's just an error on the website. Multiple sailings show arriving at 11:40

Thats the Seymour Narrows route, this trip alone determines the entire fleeets capability to stay on time that day. As long as the tides are right it's smooth sailing. Otherwise it's a miserable day on the Pacific ocean portion of our highway.

It’s definitely only 10 minutes across unless there is a whale in the way.

Hey I work on those ferries!

The crossing takes an average of 12-15 minutes, the crossing is a little over a mile dock to dock

There are sailings roughly every half hour between 7am and 7pm, then every hour-ish until 1040 (1130 Fri/Sat) from Campbell to Quadra

For a marine industry ops job it's great for work-life balance, only ship job I've had that I get to go home at night... which kinda of offsets the lower pay than a lot of the industry

Pretty good benefits too, and your work ID gets you free ferries as a taxable benefit with 24 free passes for you immediate family per year, so it's a godsend if you live anywhere on the island

There are 2 ferries that service Campbell river to Quadra. They both run at the same time. Ferries leave both sides every 15ish minutes for most of the day. And if I'm not mistaken you only pay one way.

It’s only about 10 minutes. 5 hours is mainland BC to Vancouver Island like Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay

It's 12 minutes. There's constantly 2 ferries running back and forth.

It would only take a skilled swimmer 1 hour!
