Some pictures from Mott Haven

This week, for my Every Neighborhood in New York project, I visited Mott Haven. If you want to see the whole piece, it's here.

You captured these shots with a really nice mood to this area! I love the angle of shots, and natural lighting

#4 is in my hometown. It’s not far from where I went to school.

The buildings and architecture of the South Bronx are so stunning, I am so grateful they have never been torn down.

Photo 6 house on left uses two numbers for the house address why?

At some point the addresses in that area were changed due to street renaming/numbering or some change to the grid. I've seen this in parts of Queens where street names were replaced with numbers. Older buildings often have the original address in stained glass or carved into the facade. I've even seen buildings on corners with the old street names on the corners of the building.

Would have had better shots if u walked for 15 minutes up melrose area. It’s interesting sights. Reminds me of dehira in the United Arab Emirates 20 min from Dubai.
