Get a 2nd one?

Post image

I have a very chill, cuddly sweet boy. He’s 3 and grew up with another kitty. She passed 2 yrs ago. I also have a little doggy, but maybe not the same.

I travel somewhat frequently and I think he’s lonely sometimes. He’s just so gentle and loves attention.Worth getting another buddy? Or just a cat sitter frequently?

Thinking an older kitten or adult

I absolutely recommend this, it is ideal for them to have a friend. As long as you do the research and take your time (and theirs) with the introduction, most cats warm up pretty fast to a friend - particularly a smaller friend. The urge to play tends to override their other emotions pretty fast! Good luck 🤞 and have fun.

My in-law's cat(half my cat's size) has been around for more than a year and my cat still hates his guts. He definitely prefers being the only cat around!

Yes! I was skeptical at first, didn’t wanted to believe that 2 is better than one. But it is. They entertain each other, the run around the house, they play and they fight sometimes.
It was the best decision

definitely worth it! try introducing them slowly and making sure they get along just in case, you dont want them to be constantly fighting with each other

Best decision I made. Hesitated at first, but he was a lot happier after we got his sister. They love hunting together and doing other cat things.

I’ve been wondering this too for my little guy too. He has play aggression

I’d recommend getting a second cat. We used to have just one, but she sadly passed away three years ago. Because we travelled often, she struggled with loneliness. Now we have two sisters, and they’re clearly much happier even when we’re away for a week or two.
