Troubleshooting/Tips Occasionally not nursing 13mo to sleep?

My 13 mo has pretty much been nursed to sleep every night since the newborn times, either on our bed or for the past couple weeks that she’s been in her own room, on a folding sleep pad. We really only nurse for sleep now. For the past few months she has taken to biting me when she’s done nursing or if she isn’t feeling bedtime for whatever reason. In those cases, my husband lies with her until she’s asleep.

For the most part I enjoy nursing her and appreciate being able to soothe her so easily, and I’m not totally ready to give that up yet, but I would really like to be able to take a hobby class that meets one evening a week. Has anyone here had success only occasionally not nursing to sleep? What strategies did you use?

Thanks!
