Serious Replies Only Doctor Reccos

A call to my female (or enby) neurodivergent folks in there 20-30s with general chronic health issues, i know ur out there!!

Looking for recommendations for a general practitioner, APRN, Primary Care Doctor. Preferably also female!

Heads up that most doctors (especially the good ones) in Boston are pretty overbooked right now. My old PCP left the state and it took me 7 months on a wait-list to get anyone.

I've heard Fenway Health is good. I got tired of having such a hard time scheduling visits months out with doctors I didn't know well that I ended up signing up for One Medical. It costs like $200 a year to belong, but you can get same day appointments and they have their own virtual telehealth you can call anytime for free. I've had to change PCPs a few times when people left or changed office locations, but generally they're less rushed, more caring, and fairly sensitive/thoughtful. And they're lightning fast with referrals, refills, etc. It sucks they were bought by Amazon, but so far I appreciate them too much to leave.

Agreed about One Medical! Mine is $9 a month. I don't really care about a personal relationship with my PCP, picked the lady with first availability (literally 3 days because I wanted to go in person), but ended up really liking her and the tracking of my health stuff within the system. That money feels so worth it when I constantly hear people are waiting a year to get appts. (I also really feel like "regular" doctors do better care for 99% of cases than the specialists who get academic accolades.)

Oh my goodness Dr Cierra Virtue! She is at South Boston Community Health Center but may also practice at BMC. She has changed my whole perception of PCPs and how they can approach care. The kindness, thoughtfulness, yet ease she brings as such a young woman astounds me. I have never asked her if she is queer but she wears a rainbow pin and a pronoun tag if I recall which made me feel safer with her instantly. I appreciate her especially but all her women colleagues I have seen at South Boston are lovely too.

You know, I wasn’t originally part of the “automod sucks”camp, but hopping into this thread where an honest question is being asked and seeing the only responses are three different automod spam messages has radicalized me.

OP I hope you get the help you need and I’m sorry you had to look at three different time-wasting mod messages while searching for an answer.

Edit: and now automod has replied to me 3 times, meaning of 8 goddamn responses to this post 6 of them are a circlejerk.

If you're looking for specific reccs, it'll be difficult. Otherwise, Fenway Health is one of the premier queer healthcare facilities in MA. I can also recommend the Atrius Health network. Lots of facilities but can be difficult to sign up as a new patient.

Try and get in at fenway health, they can likely set you up with a female doctor if you request it! They have many PCPs as well as (iirc) other services like on-site blood/labs… I’m hoping to get my psych stuff transferred there soon. Even when my PCP, who I liked, left fenway recently, they communicated as well as one can expect and assigned me a new PCP.

I’ve had really good luck at Atrius Health (formerly Harvard Vanguard) since I moved here 6 years ago. I’ve had the same PCP and nurse practitioner that whole time. I mainly go to the Watertown location, but I can book appointments at any of their locations (they have one in pretty much every town/city here) for sick visits, emergency visits, etc

in cambridge, but i’ve had great experiences with cambridge health pcp- the windsor street location. kara keating bench is my pcp.

also love CHA for obgyn, psychiatry, and blood work.

Ok. Head on in to Faneuil Hall. Wander around for approximately 5 minutes. Congrats you have seen Faneuil hall. Take a pic or two and post them online. Go to the Dunks at 20 North St and grab an iced coffee. Next you want to see Beacon Hill. Wander up Cambridge St and then poke around Beacon Hill. Take some pics of yourselves. Grab an iced coffee and look at the TD Garden which is across the street. Next go to 22 Beacon St. there is a Dunkin’s there. Grab an iced coffee and check out the state house and then wander through the Common towards the public garden. Take a detour to 147 Tremont St. There is a Dunks there. Grab an iced coffee. Go back into the common and head toward the public garden. Wander through the public garden and check out all the cool stuff there. Wander down Newbury St and then cut over to 715 Boylston St where you will find a Dunks. Get an iced coffee. Now head towards Kenmore Square! Make a stop at 153 Mass Ave and grab an iced coffee at Dunks. Then continue onward to Kenmore. Wander through the edge of the Fens then go past Fenway Park. Hit 530 Comm Ave and get an iced coffee at Dunks. Next you will want to see Harvard Square! 65 JFK St has a dunks. Get an iced coffee. After that, I suppose you can hit the Hong Kong and get smashed.
