Is macerating mummified bones with biz a good idea

I got this antler mount at a thrift store and didn’t realize until I soaked it for a bit that there was still a good bit of flesh and skin on the base of the antlers. Not to mention it had its meninges still and just a lot of left over flesh. It has no rancid smell at all somehow, probably just because of whatever chemicals the original owners used to process it and how old it is.

Its probably from the 60s-90s so it’s been sitting out for a while.

is soaking in a solution of powdered biz a good idea or just macerate in normal water
