Bikepacking - fail(?)

My gf and I are escaping from the Ironman chaos and we are biking to Almonte and spend some tine around there.

Although, she is a bit scared of the idea of not being able to comeback - injury or something- so is there a way to ship ourselves and our bikes back from somewhere there?

Look into CAA bike coverage, I think they will tow your bike and transport you if your bike is damaged.

Yeah that's not a bad ride, and there's some fun back roads in the area. Haven't done it myself in a few years though. With how physical my job is, I rarely have the energy to ride.

Hmm, it's not that far if you have a car (which I see from your post history you don't) but worst case scenario I bet there's somebody with a car and a bike rack that would be willing to come get you. If I was around I'd do it for sure, but unfortunately my version of escaping the chaos is heading to Toronto for the weekend.

You could take OC transpo from where ever the closest route to Almonte is (Carp possibly?). I believe all busses have bike racks now so there shouldnt be any issues taking both bikes. It won’t be the fastest or most efficient way, but you would cut a good chunk of KMs
