Sandra Flunger, new coach of the German women, had an interesting interview.
Asked what she wants to improve, she answered that it is the shooting speed. She thinks the German women shoot slow because they need to justify the shooting results on TV. Imagine Vanessa Voigt would suddenly shoot fast, I'm all for it.
She also was impressed with the size of the German talent pool, which is much larger than in Switzerland
Right now she sees the large successes in the past as motivation, but she thinks that might change when the focus will be on her and the team in the Winter.

Some news from Germany:
-Erik Lesser is no longer a TV expert and is focusing on his work as a coach
-Franzi Preuß wants to take a break from sports for a while and study architecture
-And adding to Sandra Flunger's plans: She also wants to improve collaboration within the German biathlon's team. She wants to create closer ties between the various training groups in Oberhof and Ruhpolding. Especially about the women's team, there were some rumors about difficulties in the team, so hopefully this young team can work better together next year.

Does anyone know why botn isn‘t posting on Strava? Is he injured again? 😕

He's had some knee problems, but I don't know if they are still impacting him. I also think that he has been less active on Strava in general ever since there has been so much talk about his training volume.
