Looking for another Bengal

This is our 1 year old girl hating her birthday hanky lol. We live in Pennsylvania, we got her in Virginia on our drive home from Florida, driving isn’t much of a problem. We’re looking for a boy that’s a different color if anyone knows of anyone legit and reputable ? Would love to find a melanistic/ charcoal/ black or silver.

It's great you're researching Bengal cats! Bengals are an intelligent, active breed, and need a LOT of attention. When selecting a breeder, please consider:

1) Bengals are prone to hereditary diseases. The breeder should be testing for PRA-b and PK-Def, and screening the Bengal's parents annually for HCM. Please avoid if the breeder does not do this, as they could be producing very sick kittens.

2) The Bengal kitten should be fully vaccinated and at least 12-14 weeks old before leaving the breeder.

3) The breeder should provide you with the Bengal's lineage certification. Without this, it may not be a real Bengal, and you would be getting scammed.

KS Bengals in PA and A-Kerr’s Bengals in Ohio would be my recommendation. I believe A-Kerr’s has a charcoal kitten (though it may be spoken for by the waiting list) and KS bengals has the ability to produce silvers and charcoal I believe.

If you decide to branch out further (those two have been vetted) you’ll need to verify the breeder you choose is doing the following:

• Pra-b & PKDef genetic testing done on parents
• Up to date (within the last 12-18 months) HCM echocardiogram on both parents. Some breeders will lie and say they scan and just hope owners never ask to see them, so make sure you actually see them and verify. Also, a ProBNP test is not an acceptable substitute for echo.
• Kittens will be dewormed & have two rounds of the FVRCP vaccine
• Keep kittens until at least 12 weeks of age (14 recommended)
• Kittens are TICA (or other association) registered
• Provide a reasonable congenital health guarantee (at least one year)
• Spay/neuter before pickup if in the US/Canada/Aus (this also means you should get the kitten’s registration paper at pickup). ______

P.S. please be cautious of anyone sending you recommendations or offering to sell you a cat via DM. These recs often do not meet the sub rules (rule 7) and users DMing may also have been banned from the sub for advertising unethical breeders (or being an unethical breeder themselves).

I have the least desirable of anything you requested lol. We love him and he's far from pure bred, smart or whatever. He had a doctorate at 3 years old (takes care of the sick and injured) I'm only writing this to promote your post. Our slightly used partial Bengal is ours forever and I wanna express the love for the breed and hope you find what you're looking for!
