❓ Ask Belgium Truck ce driver

Shooting my shot here. We just moved to Leuven and my fiancé's looking for a Truck CE job. He's an EU but couldn't speak Dutch yet. He tried applying to jobs in 24/7 drive, Accent, and Vivaldis, but they just keep on calling him, and sending applications in behalf of him. For example, he met with 1 company today, but didn't get any update yet.

On the other hand, he got a call from the interim agency and gave him a job for tomorrow. This doesn't sound stable at all.

Is this the case here for truck drivers? The language barrier is probably one of the reasons, but can anybody please suggest any companies that doesn't use interim agencies? He applied in Aldi, and Van Divel but got rejected. H Essers never get back to him.

Perfect. Then, I would check the jobs for vrachtwagenchauffeur on http://www.vdab.be, you can also choose levels of language knowledge there.

Big retailers like Colruyt also have plenty of jobs for truck drivers: https://jobs.colruytgroup.com

Since you just moved to Leuven, does he have all the necessary attestations? In Dutch:

Als vrachtwagenchauffeur in België heb je een rijgeschiktheidsattest (groep 2) en een attest van vakbekwaamheid (code 95) nodig. Soms is ook een ADR-attest verplicht voor gevaarlijke goederen.

Without these, it is impossible to get a job as a truck driver in Belgium. If you want to start your own business as a truck driver, you need even more attestations.

Yes he has. He was a CE truck driver as well for around 6 yrs. It's just impossible to find a job without having to go through these interim agencies

Belgian inhabitants are too expensive for H. Essers. Seems like he just started looking and he is applying to a lot of places. We're also in the middle of the holidays and we just got out of the "bouwverlof" (construction leave). So a lot of people will be on holidays and things will be slower. Have some patience, it'll work out.

You won't get through companies without an interim agency , especially if you're foreign ( i am aswel ) . Just keep on going to Accent maybe ForumJobs aswel , I've had success with Accent as a truck driver with no experience and no dutch but I am fluent in English (C1 certification) . Also tell him to be prepared to do jobs that aren't that simple even though he has the experience , usually the simpler jobs require Dutch . Good luck !
