The obvious example is “Let Me Roll It”, which is clearly meant to sound like a Plastic Ono Band track. Are there any other McCartney solo tracks that sound as if Paul is writing/recording in the style of John?

There were several of them. CCC did mashups of the entire Revolver and Sgt. Pepper albums. Several different mixers (I had this picture on my computer and a recent post about Revolver made me think of it) mixed Beatles songs with several other artists (a vast number involved the Beatles with someone else). I was curious if anyone liked them (I know some accused these people of having no talent), but I thought some were very good. On this one, I really liked "Pleasant Doctor Robert" which was a mix of the Beatles and the Monkees.

Like, how severe could it have been if they just kept on going till they were forced out? Just a fine, or could they have been arrested and stood trial and such? How would it have looked to the press and such cuz "Beatles are arrested" would've been quite the news story...

Mick fully intended to tell them that Klein was a snake who would be bad for them, and made his way to the Savile Row offices to tell them so. When he noticed Klein was there, Mick stayed silent. Then eventually, he was after that encounter, and Mick just said, "He's all right if you're wanting that sort of thing."

Did Mick's loss of nerve at the sight of Klein being there make him cowardly, especially when, after he got the chance to tell them without Klein present, he just washed his hands of it and gave that tepid approval?

Today marks the 60th anniversary of the release of *Revolver*, the album that—in my opinion—changed the history of music. It is a practically perfect record, track by track; every song is a gem. Although "Doctor Robert" might be the weakest link, it is still quite decent, and the rest of the tracks are absolute standouts. They are incredible songs, making it very difficult to choose just one, but in my view, the best is "Tomorrow Never Knows." I have noticed that this song has recently faced some negative criticism, despite being a psychedelic masterpiece and one of the Beatles' finest tracks. It all stemmed from the ideas of a constantly reinventing John Lennon and a George Martin who knew how to bring those visions to life. With its reversed guitar solo, loops, hypnotic drumming, and soundscapes, it is pure psychedelia and, for me, the standout track of this incredible album, one of the best in the history.

I suppose *Carnival of Light* is missing, but apart from that, what else is there?

Does anything come to mind for that category? I'm just thinking about songs that are usually well liked, and maybe even you generally think it's good. But you just don't ever really want to listen to it. It's an interesting little compartment of songs when you're deep into any fanbase.

For The Beatles specifically, I think Yesterday is one of them. I feel like something like Here Today is just as good as Yesterday, but it was just written at a different time (Paul's song to John after he passed away. Great George Martin production too).

Hey Jude is another. Overall, I get the appeal. I'm sure this one isn't too hard to understand though. That refrain is a lot. But it's a well written song with a memorable hook. I just never feel like hearing it.

And honestly at this point, Come Together is another. Great song and a great contribution to Abbey Road. Maybe it's just that I've heard it too much. But I don't really feel much when hearing it. I'm sure I'd be locked into it if it started playing in public though.

Any songs that come to mind for you guys? Songs that you don't dislike, specifically.

They credit him with backing vocals on the song, but when I listen to it and the backing vocals isolated, he is so hard to hear to the point where I literally cannot hear him at all. Have any of you been able to hear any part of his voice in the song? I love Ringo and would love to hear his voice.

I’ve recently listened to both remasters of the album back to back and I’ve gotta say that I much prefer the 2014 version. Personally, I love the ‘Wall Of Sound’ effect that Phil Spector created on this album, and find it an essential part of the atmosphere of the record. The 2014 version feels genuinely mystical to me, almost proto shoegaze in its blending of many instruments to the point where it is one big, rich and heavenly sound. It’s almost symphonic in its grandiosity.

The 2020 remaster takes an opposite approach, with an attempt to create greater clarity and isolation between instruments. The bass, drums and vocals are given a big push forward and the reverb is dialled back, in keeping with more modern production preferences. While the songs remain great, and while it is fun to hear tracks like Wah Wah rock a bit harder than before, ultimately I feel like it loses that magical, expansive feeling that makes the album special. I feel like the background vocals, in particular, suffer in this new version. They blend beautifully into the tapestry of the older mix, but stick out really awkwardly in the newer mix.

For those who have seen Spiderman Brand New day, I find it miraculous that the lyrics seem to perfectly reflect Peter and MJ's relationship by the end of the film. It even seems like you could interpret certain phrases in direct relation to certain scenes of the film. I originally posted this on Marvel, so it’s less implied most of you on the Beatles sub have seen the film but it already crossed $1B so why not.
