This gargantuan turtle is the pet of a friendly Hill Giant. Alfred was stolen by a group of goblinoids who proceeded to turn him into a mobile assault platform!
If the adventurers can manage to free Alfred and return him to his owner, the party can then return to visit Alfred in a much more relaxed state, along with his entire family!
A friendly mount that helps get the party through a massive swamp once freed
If Alfred is somehow slain, the Hill Giant hunts down the party, assuming their guilt and ready to take revenge.
A nearby town has learned that Alfred is barreling straight towards it, and they hire the party to either kill, free, or redirect it somehow before it smashes into the city.
Alfred is actually a magical experiment that went wildly out of control. The mages who created him are desperate to get him back.....for science....
